ANNEX I: The Signs of the Advent of the Hour and the Biggest Fear

Introduction:

In one of our articles within our archive before 2010, we have covered the words "fear"/''fright'' as part of our pondering on the Quranic terminology; within this context, we have talked also about how our relative, the Quranist writer Mr. Reda Abdel-Rahman, was arrested by the policemen of Mubarak who stormed his house to catch him and how he felt frightened and so were his family members. We remind readers that any fear/fright in this world is nothing when compared to the biggest fear during the Hour when it takes place and the fear of sinners, polytheists, and the unjust ones during the Resurrection and what follows it on the Last Day; their fear/fright will go on forever inside Hell. The good, pious human beings will never experience fright or fear during the Hour, the Resurrection, and the Last-Day events. Of course, the topic of the signs of the advent of the Hour and the Last-Day events entails a lengthy book, but here, we tackle briefly the topic of the biggest fear or fright linked to the Hour when the universe will be destroyed. We urge our fellow Quranists to write their ponderings (within articles and comments) on this topic and the Quranic verses linked to it.

Firstly: the Hour has drawn near:

1- When the Lord God talked to Moses at Mount Al-Tur, in Sinai, Egypt, He told him the following: "The Hour is coming - but I keep it almost hidden - so that each soul will be paid for what it endeavors." (20:15); about one thousand years later, the Quran was revealed to Muhammad and we read in it the following verse about the signs of the advent of the Hour: "Are they just waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? Its signs have already come..." (47:18); thus, this means that the signs of the advent of the Hour have come along with the revelation/descent of the Quran 14 centuries ago.

2- Arabs were worried about the Hour and asked Muhammad several times about when it will occur; the Quran has answered them by repeating the fact that no human beings – including Muhammad – know when it will take place; no mortals dare to claim having knowledge about this topic or an answer to such a question: "They ask you about the Hour, "When will it come?" Say, "Knowledge of it rests with my Lord. None can reveal its coming except He. It weighs heavily on the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except suddenly." They ask you as if you are responsible for it. Say, "Knowledge of it rests with God," but most people do not know." (7:187); "They ask you about the Hour, "When will it take place?" You have no knowledge of it. To your Lord is its finality. You are just a warner for whoever dreads it." (79:42-45). The Omniscient Lord God is the Only One Who knows all about the Hour: "With God rests the knowledge of the Hour..." (31:34); He has told us within the Quran some facts about the Hour in a way that make our minds grasp it; for instance, the Lord God says the following about the coming of the Hour: "...It will not come upon you except suddenly..." (7:187); the word (suddenly) is not used here in the typical sense; it refers to the smallest unit of time which is faster than the speed of light (i.e., there are higher speeds we cannot measure or experience) and it is explained here: "And Our command is but once, like the twinkling of an eye." (54:50); "To God belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. The coming of the Hour is only as the twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. God has power over everything." (16:77).

3- The Quranic facts about the Hour revolve around two main issues: (A) the signs of the advent of the Hour, and (B) events which will occur once the Hour take place and the universe is destroyed. We write briefly below about the signs of the advent of the Hour and the fear and fright which will accompany some of them.

4- The following Quranic verse employs the past tense (in Arabic) or the present perfect in English to assert the inevitability of the taking place (in the future) of the Hour of the destruction of the universe: "The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split. Yet whenever they see a sign, they turn away, and say, "Continuous magic."" (54:1-2). This will occur to the moon during the Hour; this has not happened yet; this will occur as patterns, systems, and designs of the universe will collapse; the heavens will be ruptured and the balance between gravity and the centrifugal force will vanish. Disbelievers and deniers reject the warning regarding the Hour; the Lord God says in the Quran: "The command of God came, so do not rush it..." (16:1); this means that this Divine Command is yet to be executed when the time comes as per Planet-Earth time-cycle predetermined by the Lord God, of course. Time on earth differs from the sense of time in the Upper Realm within the metaphysical level. The content of the very next verse; i.e., 16:2, and its coming directly after 16:1 indicates clearly that the descent of the Quran is definitely one of the signs of the advent of the Hour: "He sends down the angels with the Spirit by His command, upon whom He wills of His servants: "Give warning that there is no God but Me, and fear Me within piety."" (16:2). The same meaning is repeated here: "The Judgment of human beings has drawn near, but they turn away heedlessly." (21:1). Most human beings are heedless within the past 14 centuries after the revelation of the Quran; this is because they have disregarded the Quran. The next verse shows the stance of the vast majority of people, in all eras, regarding the Quran: "No new Reminder comes to them from their Lord, but they listen to it playfully." (21:2). We infer two things here: (A) the advent/descent of the Quran (1400 years ago) is the very first sign of the advent of the Hour, and (B) the Quran mentions the signs of the advent of the Hour to warn human beings in all eras before the Resurrection Day, a.k.a. the Last Day, as the Quran is the Last Message from the Dominant Lord God to all humanity until the end of days.

Secondly: the signs of the advent of the Hour:

1- The descent/revelation of the Quran 14 centuries ago is the very first sign of the advent of the Hour; what about the other signs mentioned in the Quran as part of the countdown until the Hour comes and the universe is destroyed before the Judgment Day? By the way, the Quranic verses about this topic have nothing to do with Salafist/Sunnite/Wahabi eschatological mythology.

2- The first one of the signs of the advent of the Hour is the global village, telecommunications revolution, and scientific progress and technological advancement which give a false impression that human beings are about to control the Planet Earth and colonize other planets; the countdown for the advent of the Hour has already begun: "The likeness of the present life is this: water that We send down from the sky is absorbed by the plants of the earth, from which the people and the animals eat. Until, when the Earth puts on its fine appearance, and is beautified, and its inhabitants think that they have mastered it, Our command descends upon it by night or by day, and We turn it into stubble, as if it had not flourished the day before. We thus clarify the Verses for people who reflect." (10:24). Of course, no one can predict precisely when the Hour of the destruction of the universe will occur; this is known only to the Omniscient Lord God. It is a laughter-inducing phenomenon that in the USA, some TV shows asserted (seriously and in earnest!) that the end of the world is in 2012 as per some calculations done with computers (!). We, of course, reject and refuse such a type of silly practical jokes which is akin to fear-mongering; yet, such rumors reflect true anxiety regarding the end of the world; this anxiety comes NOT from any clergymen of any type; rather, it is derived from scientists who examine and study the physical realm through natural sciences.

3- The second one of the signs of the advent of the Hour is yet to come and it is ridiculed by Quran haters and deniers; one day, it will be witnessed by people and it will be a sign indicating the miraculous Quranic feature of prediction; this sign is the creature that will come out of the earth to speak and preach to people: "And when the Word has fallen on them, We will bring out for them from the earth a creature which will tell them that people are uncertain of Our Verses." (27:82). We infer that this is among the signs of the advent of the Hour (which will occur very shortly before the Hour) because of the next verse about the Last Day: "On the Day when We gather from every community a group of those who rejected Our Verses; and they will be restrained." (27:83). This creature in the verse 27:82 will be a moving one and it will have its own free will; the Quranic word "creature" covers all living organisms, from amoeba and human beings to ethereal beings we cannot see and creatures on earth unexamined and undiscovered yet by human beings. This creature in 27:82 will speak to all human beings despite their having different tongues/languages; this means it will speak to them using one language understood by all; namely, the universal language of numbers undisputed by all people; this guess of ours is based on the fact that the digital revolution is manifested in all inventions now.  Some scientific and documentary TV shows cover the topic of the discovery of (remains or footsteps of) strange semi-human beings/creatures which appear suddenly and then vanish out of sight after being photographed or videoed. Modern science has not allowed human beings to catch one of such creatures – yet. Traditions of some tribes and some travelers in the Middle-Ages record the existence of strange creatures that emerged suddenly and vanished. Their sudden (dis)appearance indicates they live beneath the crust of the earth. This asserts the existence of the creature mentioned in 27:82, and yet, the Quran-hating people who deny the Hereafter still ridicule 27:82.

4- The last sign of the advent of the Hour of destruction of the universe, which will appear very shortly before the (zero hour), is the emergence of Gog and Magog from the crust of the earth. From the 1980s, we have gathered material (from books and articles in Arabic and from books in English; we have quoted paragraphs from them and translated these paragraphs on our own) and we have written a book on this topic of Gog and Magog. After finishing this book in 2007, titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science", the only manuscript of it was given by us, in VA, the USA, also in 2007, to our relative, the young man Mr. Amr Tharwat, who came to visit us so that it will be written in an Office-Word file by our half-brother, Mr. Abdel-Latif Saeed, and sent to us via email to be published on our Quranism website (www.ahl-alquran.com); yet, after his arrival back home to Egypt, Amr Tharwat got arrested by the Mubarak-regime men and the manuscript of the book got lost forever as all things and books with him and the things/books inside our apartment in Cairo (where Amr Tharwat lived for a while) were confiscated by the policemen! Abdel-Latif Saeed was also arrested at the same time. Thus, our work of many years was lost! Gog and Magog are mentioned directly here in these verses: "Until, when he reached the point separating the two barriers, he found beside them a people who could barely understand what is said. They said, "O Zu Al-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are spreading corruption on earth. Can we pay you, to build between us and them a wall?" He said, "What my Lord has empowered me with is better. But assist me with strength, and I will build between you and them a dam." "Bring me Zubur of iron" So that, when he had leveled up between the two mounds, he said, "Blow." And having turned it into a fire, he said, "Bring me copper to pour over it." So they were unable to climb it, and they could not penetrate it. He said, "This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes true, He will turn it into rubble, and the promise of my Lord is always true." On that Day, We will leave them surging upon one another. And the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them together." (18:93-99); "There is a ban on the town that We had destroyed - that they will not return. Until, when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they swarm down from every mound. The promise of truth has drawn near..." (21:95-97). Gog and Magog are mentioned implicitly or indirectly within the context of making Adam their successor on earth: "When your Lord said to the angels, "I am placing a successor on earth." They said, "Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?" He said, "I know what you do not know."" (2:30). We conclude that Gog and Magog spread corruption and bloodshed on earth (they controlled Planet Earth, of course) before Adam was created; so as to prevent Gog and Magog from destroying the progeny of Adam and to give the human beings the chance, as successors on the surface of Planet Earth, to live, build their civilization, and accumulate knowledge (as part of the test of living on earth), the Lord God has enabled a man named as Zu Al-Qarnayn to imprison Gog and Magog beneath the crust of the earth. Shortly before the Quake of the Hour (mentioned in the Quranic Chapter 99), Gog and Magog will manage to get out of the crust of the earth and mingle with human beings and will experience with them the biggest fear/fright of the Hour. Thus, before the creation of Adam, Gog and Magog lived on the surface of the earth; they remained as such for a while after the progeny of Adam filled the earth and the two races could not live together; Gog and Magog were corrupters on earth; they have been imprisoned for centuries until now beneath the crust of the earth and will be allowed, as per the Lord God's Will, to re-emerge on the surface of the earth shortly before the Hour. The Quran-hating people who deny the Hereafter ridicule the Quranic verses about Gog and Magog. Yet, these verses explain three mysteries (or solve three riddles) that have baffled human beings for a long time despite scientific progress/advancement of our modern age; these mysteries/riddles are as follows: (A) lost pre-human civilizations (e.g., Atlantis), (B) the UFOs or flying saucers, and (C) the Bermuda Triangle. We deeply regret the loss of the manuscript of our book titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science"; we remember that we have written in it the fact that some Western scientists attribute such three mysteries/riddles and the phenomena linked to them to civilizations in other planets in the outer space (strangely, they also assume that so-called aliens built the Pyramids of Giza!); we beg to differ; we attribute the three mysteries to Gog and Magog who live now under the crust of the earth. The Swiss author Erich Von Daniken (whose book titled "Chariots of the Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past" has been quoted by the Egyptian writer Anis Mansour in his book [in Arabic] titled "Those who Came Down from Heaven") has written books (and provided many photographs in them) titled "Miracles of the Gods: A Hard Look at the Supernatural" and "The Gold of The Gods"; he tackles pre-human civilizations which had unsurpassed-yet scientific progress/advancement. Other writers/authors of the West have followed his footsteps and have written on the same topic. As for UFOs or flying saucers and the Bermuda Triangle, these topic are tackled in countless websites, many serious, specialized American TV channels of science (e.g., Discovery and National Geographic), and several books; e.g., "The Bermuda Triangle" by Charles Berlitz. Some societies are formed to study and follow the phenomenon known as the flying saucers. We, ourselves, never believe in the existence of aliens or extraterrestrial beings who supposedly live on other planets or galaxies. Many theories are there; the least known one is the following: we do believe that Gog and Magog are behind any remains related to pre-human civilizations discovered now by scientists; Gog and Magog have advanced technology that surpasses the one of human beings now, and they worry about the future of the Planet Earth; thus, Gog and Magog send some of them to follow what human beings are doing to earth. Thus, Gog and Magog, we believe, are behind the phenomena linked to the Bermuda Triangle and the UFOs. We feel we will not live long enough to be able to re-write our lost book titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science". We need the help of our fellow Quranists who will write on that topic (and contribute to a book about it) by using data available within the internet so that Quranists would offer a service to all human beings by reminding them of the Hour and its signs within a Quranist perspective.

Lastly: about Planet Earth:

As per specialized American TV channels of science (e.g., Discovery and National Geographic), modern science and its people (i.e., scientists of different specializations) admit their inability to reach all secrets of Planet Earth; for instance, many regions within the beds of oceans are yet to be explored; not all species of animals/creatures are discovered; exploring the earth is a process more complicated than studying distant planets and galaxies. In addition, many scientists assert the existence of different dimensions and levels overlapping with Planet Earth; this helps us to understand the Quranic fact about the seven Barsakh levels of the earth and the seven ones of the heavens: "God is He Who created seven heavens, and their like of earth. The command descends through them, so that you may know that God is Capable of everything, and that God encompasses everything in His knowledge." (65:12). Human beings are seized with fear within natural disasters like hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, and erupting volcanoes. It is known that underneath the crust of the earth, there are molten rocks, metals, lava/magma, etc. within very high degrees of pressure and temperature inside the core of the earth; mountains are stabilizers of the earth's crust: "And We placed on earth stabilizers, lest it sways with them..." (21:31); "And the mountains as stabilizers?" (78:7). Any change or movement within the crust causes natural disasters like earthquakes and the eruption of volcanoes, and people entrapped in such disasters feel very frightened; yet, this is nothing compared to fear/fright within the Quake of the Hour and the oceans set on fire as the crust of the earth will be totally destroyed: "When the earth is shaken with its quake. And the earth brings out its loads." (99:1-2); "And the elevated roof. And the seething sea. The torment of your Lord is coming. There is nothing to avert it. On the Day when the heaven sways in agitation. And the mountains are set into motion. Woe on that Day to the deniers." (52:5-11); this elevated roof, in our view, is the ozone layer whose function is mentioned in this verse: "And We made the sky a protected ceiling; yet they turn away from its signs." (21:32). Climate change is a cause of serious concern now all over the globe; pollution made nature lose its balance. We do believe that black holes (formed by dead stars) in the outer space is a small-scale scenario of the Hour of the destruction of the universe. This is frequently mentioned in TV shows about the visions concerning the end of the world; this is not to mention scenarios of dangers that threaten the very existence of life on Planet Earth; e.g., nuclear war, huge asteroids colliding with earth, and epidemics. This reflects the real concern about the end of days and the destruction of the earth and the whole universe. In the Quran, we perceive the fact that the creation of the earth is mentioned on equal footing with the creation of the seven heavens; this is in contrast to the fact that the earth is like a speck of sand when its size is compared with the sizes of planets, stars, and galaxies in the observable universe; this means that the Planet Earth is very important because it is the only planet that has forms of life (i.e., there are no aliens and there is no life in the outer space); Gog and Magog lived on earth and so are human beings now; this is not to mention other living organisms: animals, plants, germs, bacteria, viruses, etc. The physical observable universe and the overlapping metaphysical realm will be destroyed and turned into zero/nothingness on the Last Day; a New, Eternal Realm will be created by the Lord God, complete with its own eternal heavens and eternal earth. The tremendous fear/fright will seize those unjust ones and criminals who never esteemed the Lord God as He should be esteemed: "They have not esteemed God as He ought to be esteemed. The entire earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection, and the heavens will be folded in His right. Superior He is beyond the polytheism to which they adhere. And the Trumpet will be blown, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be stunned, except whomever God wills. Then it will be blown another time, whereupon they will rise up, looking on. And the earth will shine with the Light of its Lord; and the Book will be put in place; and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought in; and Judgment will be passed among them equitably, and they will not be wronged. And every soul will be fully compensated for what it had done. He is well aware of what they do. Those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in throngs. Until, when they have reached it, and its gates are opened, its keepers will say to them, "Did not messengers from among you come to you, reciting to you the verses of your Lord, and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the verdict of torment is justified against the disbelievers." It will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein eternally." How wretched is the destination of the arrogant. And those who feared their Lord will be led to Paradise in throngs. Until, when they have reached it, and its gates are opened, its keepers will say to them, "Peace be upon you, you have been good, so enter it, to abide therein eternally."" (39:67-73).

ANNEX II: The Biggest Fear when the Hour Takes Place

Introduction:

The last section brought so many comments that contained questions from our dear fellow Quranists; many of them have been answered before by our person; we recapitulate these answers briefly in the points below.

1- There is a difference between the signs of the advent of the Hour and the events which will occur when it will take place; i.e., when the universe is being destroyed. It is wrong to use the expression (the signs of the Hour); in the previous section, we have intentionally employed the more correct expression (the signs of the advent of the Hour) inferred by our person from God's Word, the Quran, about the fact that the Hour has drawn near: "The Hour has drawn near..." (54:1), and the fact that the Day of Judgment has drawn near: "The Judgment of human beings has drawn near, but they turn away heedlessly." (21:1). In this section, we write briefly about the events which will occur to the universe while it is being destroyed during the Hour.

2- The Quran brings news of the Hour; God's Book, the Quran, should be doubted: "It is a portent of the Hour, so have no doubt about it, and follow Me. This is the Straight Way." (43:61); this verse comes within the context of refuting the arguments of Quran-hating polytheists who demanded from Muhammad tangible miracles like the ones granted to Jesus: "And when the son of Mary was cited as an example, your people opposed. They said, "Are our gods better, or he?" They cited him only for argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. He was just a servant whom We blessed, and We made him an example for the Israelites. Had We willed, We would have made of you angels to be successors on earth. It is a portent of the Hour, so have no doubt about it, and follow Me. This is the Straight Way. And let not Satan divert you. He is an open enemy to you." (43:57-62).

3- This verse has nothing to do with the signs of the advent of the Hour: "So watch out for the day when the sky produces a visible smoke." (44:10); this verse has addressed Muhammad and his people in Arabia as deniers of the Quran were punished by thick smoke descending upon them at one time; this is asserted in the entire context we quote here: "Yet they play around in doubt. So watch out for the day when the sky produces a visible smoke. Enveloping people; this is a painful torment. "Our Lord, lift the torment from us, we are believers." But how can they be reminded? An enlightening messenger has already come to them. But they turned away from him, and said, "A crazy teacher!" We will ease the torment a little, but you will revert. The Day when We launch the Great Assault - We will avenge. Before them We tested the people of Pharaoh; a noble messenger came to them." (44:9-17); this is explained further within another Quranic context as God has imposed an infliction (i.e., smoke) on them inside Arabia: "Or are you asking them for a payment? The reward from your Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. You are inviting them to the Straight Path. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter are swerving from the path. Even if We had mercy on them, and relieved their infliction, they would still blindly persist in their defiance. We have already gripped them with infliction, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor did they humble themselves. Until, when We have opened before them a gate of intense torment, at once they will despair." (23:72-77).

4- The Omniscient Lord God is the Only One Who knows the metaphysical realm of (A) the past, (B) the future, and (C) the invisible; those human beings who talk about this realm outside the Quran spread and propagate mere mythology; we have mentioned many times in our writings the fact that Muhammad himself never knew about the future, as per the Quran, and hadiths containing predictions are false, fabricated ones, indeed as the case with all hadiths in general without exception. Of course, the Quran contains some verses that tackle news items about the metaphysical realm of the future, and chief among them are the ones about the Hour which will take place in a predestined point in time known only to the Lord God; we are to ponder and reflect on these verses (and be warned by them) but from within the Quran itself and as per Quranic terminology; one's ponderings might be right/true or wrong/false, whether one understands Quranic verses through modern science or not. We are against the view of those who claim that it is useless to reflect on the verses which contain miraculous scientific indications; in fact, pondering these verses is the core of preaching and warning the Muhammadans and urging them to reform themselves and adhere to monotheism if they really believe in the Hereafter. Death is the inevitable fate of all mortals and the Hour has drawn near; the Quran which descended 1400 years ago asserts that the Day of Judgment has drawn near. Thus, powerful tyrants, criminals, and sinners, who terrorize those weak, patient, helpless believers on earth and die without repentance, will experience the biggest fear, fright, and terror on the Last Day and then forever inside Hell.

5- The biggest fear, fright, and terror within the Hour and the Resurrection Day is the topic of one unfinished book of ours titled "Facts of the Resurrection Day between the Quran and Modern Science", which we began to write in the late 1980s as we have been influenced by the book titled "The Universe and the counter-Universe" by Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh who tackles in it the topic of the creation of the universe and the counter-universe as both emerged once the Big Bang occurred and both of them move within elliptic trajectory in opposite directions; when they collide against each other, this is when the Hour of destruction of the universe will occur. When we read this book by Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh , we saw clearly that many facts found in it correspond with many Quranic facts; hence, we spent many months collecting material for our book titled "Facts of the Resurrection Day between the Quran and Modern Science". No words in any tongues/languages can describe the biggest fear when the Hour takes place and the universe is destroyed. Details about the Hour will not be tackled in this BOOK; they will be mentioned in our book titled "Facts of the Resurrection Day between the Quran and Modern Science" when we finish and publish it on our Quranism website (www.ahl-alquran.com). We assert briefly here that as per the Quran, when the universe is destroyed and reaches the zero point, this is directly linked to the point in time when the universe (i.e., the heavens and the earth and everything between them) was created.

Firstly: A summary of some Quran-supported scientific facts mentioned by Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh and others:

1- The Big Bang theory: The late Egyptian scientist Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh (1928 - 1986) writes the following in his book (in Arabic) titled "The Universe and the Counter-Universe", about the Big Bang that caused the creation of the universe: (... In the beginning, the universe was a stacked mass within unimagined levels of pressure; this impermeable, non-porous mass exploded and the contents of its matter are being scattered and expanded until now; when I've read these scientific facts for the first time, I remembered this Quranic verse: "Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were one mass, and We tore them apart? ..." (21:30); this means that the universe (i.e., "the heavens and the earth" as per the Quranic expression) was one point/mass which exploded and formed the visible universe (and its invisible levels) with its earth, planets, sun, stars, and galaxies in the outer space, within distances measured in millions of light years ... Some scientists assume that this explosion or the Big Bang took place 18.000 million years ago ... Some scientists, in 1965, discovered by their radio-telescopes the echoes of weak electromagnetic waves; they assume that such echoes are the ongoing reverberations of the Big Bang that formed the universe ...). The Cairo-based Al-Akhbar newspaper mentioned in Nov. 1989 that NASA had a budget of 400 US$ in order to launch a satellite to examine the rays resulted from the Big Bang (which formed the universe), which is estimated to have occurred more than 15 billion years. In April 1990, the same newspaper mentioned that the space shuttle Discovery with its Hubble Space Telescope will examine the movements of galaxies, stars, and comets for 15 years within precision exceeding ten times any other previous telescope; the mission of the Hubble Space Telescope is to determine when the universe has been formed/created within the Big Bang.

2- The expansion of the universe: once the Big Bang occurred, the universe never ceased to expand, and it will continue to expand as per this Quranic verse: "We constructed the heaven with power, and We are expanding it." (51:47). The Cairo-based Al-Wafd newspaper mentioned in July 1987 within the article titled (The Universe Is Expanding in All Directions) that in astronomy, observing the gravitational redshift is used to measure the distances among different stars and galaxies and to estimate when the Big Bang took place in order to calculate the age of the ever-expanding universe. This newspaper article mentioned that a British astronomer asserted that the expansion of the universe causes the formation of new stars to fill in the void or space; this means that the movements of stars go on and the various distances among these stars do not remain the same. After 20 years of research, the American astronomer Allan Sandage asserted that the speed of the expansion of the universe is 230 million miles per minute and that this expansion in all directions has begun about 18 billion years ago. In 1974, as per the same article, astronomers in Texas University asserted that the universe is expanding limitlessly and endlessly and that the scope of such expansions is beyond being measured – at least at this point in time. The same article mentioned that as per the relativity theory of Einstein in 1916, asserted by the Russian physicist and mathematician Alexander Friedman (in his Friedman equations) in 1922, the universe is round within an elliptic shape taken billions of years ago.

3- The pairs and the destruction of the universe when it will collide with the counter-universe: We quote the following passages about the expansion of the universe from the book titled "The Universe and the Counter-Universe" by Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh. (... The matter and the anti-matter must be within equal quantity, and this applies to all celestial bodies: this is the concept of pairs or duality that governs the universe and all creatures in heaven and on earth ... In 1977, some scientists managed to form an atom of antiparticles and antineutrons within an anti-nucleus of hydrogen but this anti-atom of hydrogen 'died' and was transformed into electromagnetic waves; it is possible now to form anti-atoms of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, water, gold, etc. and such atoms will not differ from the ordinary atoms in physical/natural and chemical features; yet, there is no place on earth that may withstand the existence of one tiny drop of anti-water, unless when scientists would make it be suspended within a void so as not to let it collide with any atoms of this physical universe; in fact, until now, no scientists can create a space of total void. The anti-atoms cannot go on existing unless for few seconds; they explode once they touch any physical atoms of Planet Earth; such anti-atoms disappear in the form of waves which move in the speed of light ... The anti-atoms have reversed magnetic fields, charges, and direction of movement inside their nuclei ... When matter collides with antimatter at any point in time within any place, as in the case of an electron and its antielectron, both of them die or get annihilated and they turn into waves which move in the speed of light ... The matter on earth, and indeed elsewhere in the universe, contains huge destructive energies or rays; if you mix one liter of milk and one liter of anti-milk, the emitted energy can wipe out and annihilate a big city and kill millions of people living in it; the Einstein famous formula is E=mc2. This formula states that the equivalent energy (E) can be calculated as the mass (m) multiplied by the speed of light (c = about 3×108 m/s) squared. This means that two liters of milk and anti-milk are 2000 grams multiplied by 30 thousand million cm (or the speed of light per second) equal 30 thousand million erg (the erg is the unit of energy) or the number 18 and beside it 23 zeros; this type of explosion is equal to 2200 nuclear bombs like the one thrown at Hiroshima or the explosion of 44 million tons of TNT ... Let alone the emitted destructive energy when a star collides with an anti-star; thus, when the universe will collide with its counter-universe, this is total destruction within Doomsday ...). The Cairo-based Al-Wafd newspaper mentioned in Sept. 1987 within the article titled (Matter and Antimatter in Outer Space) that the antimatter is a very complicated field of scientific research which opens the door for studying the risks of allowing astronauts to remain for longer times within their journeys in outer space, because when matter collides with the antimatter in outer space, both disappear and a huge amount of energy emits as a result.

These passages are enough to make readers able to imagine the enormity of the collusion between the universe (of heavens and the earth and everything between them [Barsakh levels, galaxies, etc.]) and the counter-universe; this will cause the explosion of the Hour or the total destruction of the universe before the emergence of the Eternal Realm of the Last Day.

4- We know from the Quran, and later on from science, that the concept of duality or pairs dominates everything on earth and in the universe (male/female, negative/positive, and passive/active) in human beings, animals, and plants, and even in matter and antimatter, electrons and antielectrons, and finally, the universe and the counter-universe. The Quran, God's Word, is the first text to mention that this concept of duality or pairs dominates all God's creatures in the universe, including animals, jinn, angels, devils, inanimate matters, stars, galaxies, atoms, etc. The Lord God is the Only One Who has no pair at all of any kind: "Say, "He is Allah, the One. Allah the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him."" (112:1-4). These verses show the concept of pairs regarding all creatures in the universe: "We constructed the heaven with power, and We are expanding it. And the earth - We spread it out - How well We prepared it! We created all things in pairs, so that you may reflect and ponder." (51:47-49); "He Who created all the pairs..." (43:12). However great the amount of accumulated scientific knowledge will be, human beings will never know about all creatures in the physical universe and the ethereal ones in the metaphysical Barsakh levels and the seven heavens, let alone knowing about the counter-universe; the Omnipotent, Omniscient Lord God says the following in the Quran: "Glory be to Him who created all the pairs; of what the earth produces, and of their own selves, and of what they do not know." (36:36). We should always remember the calculations mentioned by Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Saleh about the collusion of matter and antimatter (within the example of the collusion between one liter of milk and one liter of anti-milk) to be able to imagine the enormity of the explosion of the Hour (and the amount of fright of human beings who will witness the Hour when it takes place) when the heavens and the earth (i.e., the physical matter of the universe with its planets, stars, galaxies, etc.) will collide with the counter-universe of antimatter.

Secondly: the total destruction of the universe will not be caused by internal factors; rather, it will be caused by the collusion of the universe and the counter-universe:

1- Some scientists of our modern era predict that the destruction of the universe may occur (billions of years later!) when (A) a huge meteoroid collides against Planet Earth, (B) a star collides against the sun, (C) the sun gets sucked into a larger black hole, or (D) the sun grows very old and explodes from the inside to turn itself into a black hole. In our view, such predictions will never take place; the Quran asserts that the destruction of the universe will not occur because of anything inside the solar system; rather, it will occur when the universe collides with the counter-universe.

2- The Lord God employs figurative, metaphorical style in the Quranic text to help the limited human mind understand and grasp a measure of knowledge about the metaphysical realm of the past, the future, and the invisible; the human mind is mainly qualified and made to understand items of the physical, visible realm. It is known that the equality between the force of gravity and the centrifugal force maintains the orbits and movements of planets and stars; the Quranic expression of this fact is that the Lord God holds the heavens and the earth (i.e., the universe) together. This means that the laws of gravity andcentrifugal force apply to the seven levels of heavens unreached by human beings: "God holds the heavens and the earth, lest they fall apart. And were they to fall apart, there is none to hold them together except He..." (35:41); hence, controlling the universe (i.e., the heavens and the earth) by maintaining or destroying it is up to the Lord God only; when the predetermined time comes by His command and permission, the universe will be destroyed and its design, systems, and patterns will collapse; the Lord God says the following in the Quran: "...He holds up the heaven lest it falls on earth - except by His permission..." (22:65).

3- The mathematical calculations within the relativity theory of Einstein have allowed other scientist to reach the solutions of some problems concerning astronomy without having to visit the outer space; their astronomical calculations have made them reach far more than they expected. The calculations of the movements of the sun and the moon made human beings have the solar and lunar calendars; the Lord God says the following in the Quran: "The sun and the moon move according to certain measures...And the heaven, He raised; and He set up the balance." (55:5-7). This means that the design, systems, and patterns of the universe are controlled by precise measures, calculations, and balance. This idea of balance applies to nature on earth, of course. With the Lord God's permission within a predestine time known only to Him, this balance will collapse when the universe is destroyed when the Hour takes place.

4- Some Quranic verses which contain miraculous scientific indications show the precise design, systems, and patterns of the universe: "Glory be to Him who created all the pairs; of what the earth produces, and of their own selves, and of what they do not know. Another sign for them is the night: We strip the day out of it - and they are in darkness. And the sun runs towards its destination. Such is the design of the Almighty, the Omniscient. And the moon: We have disposed it in phases, until it returns like the old twig. The sun is not to overtake the moon, nor is the night to outpace the day. Each floats in an orbit." (36:36-40). Everything in the universe is created in pairs: "Glory be to Him who created all the pairs..." (36:36); "We created all things in pairs, so that you may reflect and ponder." (51:49); "He Who created all the pairs..." (43:12). The verses 36:36-40 indicate clearly the fact that the precisely measured/calculated movements of all celestial bodies created by the Lord God will go on until the Hour comes and the universe is destroyed.

5- We read the following in the Quran about the force of gravity and centrifugal force which keep all celestial bodies in their orbits: "God is He who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, and then settled on the Throne. And He regulated the sun and the moon, each running for a predestined period..." (13:2). Thus, the Lord God is the Controller of the universe; He controls it completely. Human beings cannot see gravity and counter-gravity, even if they live enveloped by such forces.

6- The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were one mass, and We tore them apart? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not believe? And We placed on earth stabilizers, lest it sways with them, and We placed therein signposts and passages, that they may be guided. And We made the sky a protected ceiling; yet they turn away from its signs. It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit." (21:30-33). These verses indicate the Big Bang which resulted in the emergence of the universe and the counter-universe; it is a well-known scientific fact that water is the basis of life within all living organisms; mountains are stabilizers which protect the crust of the earth, oceans, etc. so as to prevent their fall into the molten core of the Planet Earth. The protected ceiling is the Ozone layer, in our view. Of course, no one can change the design, patterns, and system of the universe except the Lord God Who will destroy the universe by an unimagined explosion resulting from the collusion of the universe with the counter-universe when the Hour comes.

7- Some people assume that thunderbolts and lightning occur randomly; this is not true; the Quran asserts that nothing occurs randomly within the realm of the Lord God the Creator Who measures everything: "...And He sends the thunderbolts, striking with them whomever He wills..." (13:13); "He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth...Who created everything and determined its measure." (25:2). Everything in the universe has its speed and measure from less than the femtosecond to faster than the speed of light (i.e., the speed of the destruction of the universe when the Hour comes): "Everything We created is precisely measured. And Our command is but once, like the twinkling of an eye." (54:49-50)

Thirdly: the figurative style in the Quran in describing the tremendous explosion of the Hour when the universe will be destroyed:

The Arabic tongue – as well as other tongues – is not enough to express the Hour (and its tremendous explosion) which has drawn near; this is why the Lord God employs figurative, metaphorical style of language in the Quran to help human mind grasp/imagine this tremendous explosion and sounds/scenes which will accompany it. The human ears and eyes are NOT qualified to hear/see everything in the physical realm; let alone imagining how the tremendous explosion of the Hour will sound/look like; no human tongues/languages can express this tremendous explosion of the universe when the Hour takes place; hence, the Quranic text employs figurative, metaphorical style regarding this topic. We tackle in the brief points below some Quranic indications about this topic.

1- The Lord God is the Controller and Master of the Last Day; He uses the expression (the Trumpet is blown) to indicate the tremendous explosion of the Hour: "...and His is the sovereignty on the Day when the Trumpet is blown..." (6:73). This expression using the (Trumpet) indicates the sovereignty of the Eternal King: God Himself; by the way, heralds of mortal kings/queens use trumpets to announce things; this is why the figurative image or metaphor of (the Trumpet is blown) is understood by everyone in all eras. It is noteworthy that the passive voiced is used in all verses about the Hour and the Last Day; this means that human beings lose the freedom they enjoyed when they were alive on earth, when they moved and chose things freely; they have chosen to (dis)obey and to (dis)believe; this freedom of choice is granted to them by the Lord God as long as they are alive on earth. Once the Trumpet is blown (i.e., then the Hour takes place), this freedom ends and all humanity will be gathered and judged; each human soul will face its fate; no one will avoid attending the Last-Day events; the second explosion or scream (or blowing of the Trumpet) will be of the Resurrection. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "All of them, every single one of them, will be arraigned before Us." (36:32); "And the Trumpet is blown: "This is the Promised Day." And every soul will come forward, accompanied by a driver and a witness." (50:20-21);"It will be but a single scream; and behold, they will all be brought before Us." (36:53). Thus, employing the passive voice means that the freedom of humanity is lost; it is lost forever for Hell-dwellers; in contrast, it is restored to Paradise-dwellers for eternity after losing it temporarily on the Judgment Day.

2- The term (scream) is used in other verses instead of the (Trumpet). Human experience on earth makes most people refuse to believe that a scream will cause the destruction of the universe and another one will cause the Resurrection of souls of human beings; yet, the enormity of such screams cannot be imagined by the limited human mind; the figurative metaphorical style of the Quran helps us understand what will inevitably occur: "All they can expect is a single scream, which will seize them..." (36:48); "It will be but a single scream; and behold, they will all be brought before Us." (36:53);"When the Trumpet is blown. That Day will be a difficult day. For the disbelievers - not easy." (74:8-10); "But when the Deafening Noise comes to pass. The Day when a person will flee from his brother. And his mother and his father. And his consort and his children. Every one of them, on that Day, will have enough to preoccupy him." (80:33-37); "The Shocker. What is the Shocker? What will explain to you what the Shocker is?" (101:3); "And the Trumpet will be blown, whereupon everyone in the heavens and the earth will be stunned, except whomever God wills..." (39:68); "So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck." (52:45). The good deeds and monotheistic faith of those who will enter into Paradise will prevent their being struck upon Resurrection, despite the fact that they will be gathered with the rest of humanity (i.e., the frightened, struck sinners who will enter into Hell) in the same location on the Last Day. This Quranic fact must be believed by pious monotheists, even if this seems overtly impossible as per laws of physics in this physical realm of the observable universe.

3- The tremendous explosions of the Hour (the Trumpet or scream) and the Resurrection will be accompanied by movements, as per what we infer from the following verses: "On the Day when the Quake quakes. And is followed by the Successor." (79:6-7).

Fourthly: two, and not one, tremendous explosions:

1- We conclude from the Quran that there are two tremendous explosions; the one of the Hour and the one of the Resurrection, as a New, Eternal Realm will be created with eternal earth and heavens, and all humanity will be gathered and judged so that every soul will face its fate forever (either in Hell or in Paradise).

2- Those sinners who never esteemed the Lord God as He ought to be esteemed will be surprised upon Resurrection and will realize that they are losers whose loss will result in eternal perdition and damnation: "They have not esteemed God as He ought to be esteemed. And the earth will shine with the Light of its Lord; and the Book will be put in place; and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought in; and Judgment will be passed among them equitably, and they will not be wronged." (39:67-69). We see here the figurative style within the word (grip), asserting the fact that the Lord God is the Master of the Last Day Who fully controls it; all humanity will lose freedom and will be judged – including prophets/messengers. Yet, the polytheistic Muhammadans insist on putting Muhammad's name (and also Ali's name) after the testimony of monotheism of (There is no God but Allah); this means that they have not esteemed the Lord God as He ought to be esteemed. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "No - when the earth is leveled, pounded, and crushed. And your Lord comes, with the angels, row after row." (89:21-22);"On the Day when the earth is changed into another earth, and the heavens, and they will emerge before God the Dominant One." (14:48). This means that a New, Eternal Realm will emerge upon the Resurrection within the second tremendous explosion which will follow the first one of the Hour of destroying the universe. This New, Eternal Realm will have  beginning and will never have an end; it will witness the presence of the Dominant Lord God and His angels; it will include Hell and Paradise and both will house their dwellers for eternity; i.e., the dwellers of Hell and the dwellers of Paradise will never die. This is in contrast to the transience of the physical universe of the heavens and the earth and to the fact that human beings on earth are mortals.

3- The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "And they say, "When will this promise be, if you are truthful?" All they can expect is a single scream, which will seize them while they feud. They will not be able to make a will, nor will they return to their families. The Trumpet will be blown, then behold, they will rush from the tombs to their Lord. They will say, "Woe to us! Who resurrected us from our resting-place?" This is what the Dominant Lord had promised, and the messengers have spoken the truth." It will be but a single scream; and behold, they will all be brought before Us. On that Day, no soul will be wronged in the least, and you will be recompensed only for what you used to do." (36:48-54). The (scream) is synonymous with the blowing of (the Trumpet); one scream is of the Hour and the second one is of the Resurrection within a New, Eternal Realm, as humanity will be judged and Hell and Paradise will be created.

4- The first tremendous explosion of the Hour is mentioned here after the context of the prediction about the emergence of Gog and Magog shortly before the Hour takes place: "On that Day, We will leave them surging upon one another. And the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them together." (18:99); the following verses are about the end of the world (or the end of days) within the Hour of the destruction of the universe: "Then, when the Trumpet is blown a single time. And the earth and the mountains are lifted up, and crushed, with a single crush. On that Day, the Event will come to pass. And the heaven will crack; so on that Day it will be frail." (69:13-16).

5- These Quranic contexts are about the second tremendous explosion (or scream or blowing of the Trumpet) of the Resurrection: "The Trumpet will be blown, then behold, they will rush from the tombs to their Lord." (36:51); "On the Day when the Trumpet is blown-We will gather the sinners on that Day, blue." (20:102); "The Day when they will hear the Shout in all truth. That is the Day of Emergence. It is We who control life and death, and to Us is the destination. The Day when the earth will crack for them at once. That is an easy gathering for Us." (50:42-44). In addition, the Lord God says the following about the Resurrection and the Day of Judgment: "The Day of Sorting has been appointed. The Day when the Trumpet is blown, and you will come in droves." (78:17-18).

6- The New, Eternal Realm will have no sense of time; one will not feel the notions of past, present, and future in it; this is hard to imagine with the limited human mind as we live on earth enveloped with the sense of time and we feel the passage of time. In some Quranic contexts within the special Quranic style of brevity, both tremendous explosions of the Hereafter are mentioned as if they were one; this asserts the fact that the New, Eternal Realm will have no sense of time felt by human beings on earth: "Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back. That I may do right in what I have neglected." By no means! It is just a word that he utters. And behind them is a barrier/Barsakh, until the Day they are resurrected. When the Trumpet is blown, no relations between them will exist on that Day, and they will not ask after one another." (23:99-101); "We created the human being, and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. As the two receivers receive, seated to the right and to the left. Not a word does he utter, but there is a watcher by him, ready. The daze of death has come in truth: "This is what you tried to evade." And the Trumpet is blown: "This is the Promised Day."" (50:16-20).

Fifthly: the advent of the Hour and the first tremendous explosion which will destroy the universe with its patterns and systems:

1- This first tremendous explosion will take place in a speed which exceeds the speed of light; the (meta)physical universe with its patterns and systems its earth and seven heavens, and its celestial bodies will be destroyed at once. Features of this first tremendous explosion which will destroy the universe are mentioned several times in the Holy Quran: "Then, when the Trumpet is blown a single time. And the earth and the mountains are lifted up, and crushed, with a single crush. On that Day, the Event will come to pass. And the heaven will crack; so on that Day it will be frail." (69:13-16); "On the Day when the earth and the mountains tremble, and the mountains become heaps of sand." (73:14); " When the sun is rolled up. When the stars are dimmed. When the mountains are set in motion. When the relationships are suspended. When the beasts are gathered. When the oceans are set aflame. When the souls are paired." (81:1-7); "And they ask you about the mountains. Say, "My Lord will crumble them utterly." And leave them desolate waste. You will see in them neither crookedness, nor deviation."" (20:105-107); "When the heaven breaks apart. When the planets are scattered. When the oceans are exploded. When the tombs are strewn around." (82:1-4); "When the earth is shaken with its quake. And the earth brings out its loads." (99:1-2); "The Shocker. What is the Shocker? What will explain to you what the Shocker is? The Day when the people will be like scattered moths. And the mountains will be like tufted wool." (101:1-5); "When the heaven is ruptured. And hearkens to its Lord, as it must. And when the earth is leveled out. And casts out what is in it, and becomes empty. And hearkens to its Lord, as it must." (84:1-5); "On the Day when the heaven will be like molten brass. And the mountains will be like tufted wool." (70:8-9); "When the inevitable occurs. Of its occurrence, there is no denial. Bringing low, raising high. When the earth is shaken with a shock. And the mountains are crushed and crumbled. And they become scattered dust." (56:1-6); "Surely what you are promised will happen. When the stars are obliterated. And the heaven is fractured. And the mountains are blown away." (77:7-10); "The torment of your Lord is coming. There is nothing to avert it. On the Day when the heaven sways in agitation. And the mountains are set into motion. Woe on that Day to the deniers." (52:7-11); "On the Day when the Quake quakes. And is followed by the Successor. Hearts on that Day will be pounding." (79:6-7); "And the heaven is opened up and becomes gateways. And the mountains are set in motion, and become a mirage." (78:19-20).

2- Let us quote below Quranic verses about how things in the universe and on earth will be destroyed.

The earth and mountains: "Then, when the Trumpet is blown a single time. And the earth and the mountains are lifted up, and crushed, with a single crush." (69:13); "On the Day when the earth and the mountains tremble..." (73:14).

The earth: "When the earth is shaken with a shock." (56:4); "When the earth is shaken with its quake. And the earth brings out its loads." (99:1-2); "And when the earth is leveled out. And casts out what is in it, and becomes empty. And hearkens to its Lord, as it must." (84:3-5).

The mountains: "...and the mountains become heaps of sand." (73:14); "When the mountains are set in motion." (81:3); "And they ask you about the mountains. Say, "My Lord will crumble them utterly." And leave them desolate waste. You will see in them neither crookedness, nor deviation."" (20:105-107); "And the mountains will be like tufted wool." (101:5); "And the mountains will be like tufted wool." (70:9); "And the mountains are crushed and crumbled. And they become scattered dust." (56:5-6); "And the mountains are set in motion, and become a mirage." (78:20); "And the mountains are blown away." (77:10); "And the mountains are set in motion." (52:10).

The seas: "When the oceans are set aflame." (81:6); "When the oceans are exploded." (82:3).

The heaven: "When the heaven is ruptured. And hearkens to its Lord, as it must." (84:1-2); "And the heaven will crack; so on that Day it will be frail." (69:16); "When the heaven breaks apart." (82:1); "On the Day when the heaven will be like molten brass." (70:8); "And the heaven is fractured." (77:9); "And the heaven is opened up, and becomes gateways." (78:19); "On the Day when the heaven sways in agitation." (52:9).

The moon: "The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split." (54:1).

The sun: "When the sun is rolled up." (81:1).

The stars: "When the stars are dimmed." (81:2); "When the stars are obliterated." (77:8).

The planets: "When the planets are scattered." (82:2).

The living creatures: "When the relationships are suspended." (81:4).

We will not analyze these verses in this BOOK as our focus here is on the biggest fear resulting from the Hour when it takes place.

Sixthly: features of the biggest fear within the first tremendous explosion:

The Lord God warns humanity beforehand of the Hour: "O people, be conscious of your Lord. The quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the Day when you will see it: every nursing mother will discard her infant, and every pregnant woman will abort her load, and you will see the people drunk, even though they are not drunk - but the torment of God is severe." (22:1-2). We see here scenes and features of the biggest fear/fright without using the term (fear) itself. This unique experience will be unprecedented; the Hour will occur faster than the speed of light; yet, the scenes mentioned in 22:1-2 will take place and be felt within the New, Eternal Realm after the destruction of the universe when the Hour comes.

Seventhly: features of the biggest fear within the second tremendous explosion:

1- The Lord God says in the Quran: "On the Day when the Trumpet is blown, everyone in the heavens and the earth will be horrified, except whomever God wills; and everyone will come before Him in humility." (27:87). This means that the biggest  fear will seize some human beings and will be avoided by some other human beings despite the fact that all humanity will be forced to stand before the Lord God on the Last Day.

2- The good, monotheistic, pious believers will not experience this biggest fear during the Resurrection: "The Supreme Fear will not worry them, and the angels will receive them: "This is your Day which you were promised."" (21:103); "Whoever brings a virtue will receive better than it - and they will be safe from the horrors of that Day. But whoever brings evil-their faces will be tumbled into the Fire. Will you be rewarded except for what you used to do?" (27:89-90).

3- The sinners will experience this biggest fear and will try in vain to escape: "If you could only see when they are terrified, and there is no escape, and they are seized from a nearby place." (34:51).

4- Thus, the biggest fear of sinners, criminals, and polytheists is contrasted with lack of fear within the good, monotheistic, pious believers on the Last Day. This Quranic rule applies to all those among Adam's progeny in all eras who have followed the Guidance coming from the Lord God: "We said, "Go down from it, all of you. Yet whenever guidance comes to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance - they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve." (2:38). This Quranic rule is repeated several time to assert the fact that it includes all good, monotheistic, pious believers in all eras and locations, regardless of the sects and doctrines: see 2:68, 2:112, 2:282, 2:274, 2:277, 3:170, 5:69, 6:48, 7:35, 7:49, 10:62, 43:68, and 46:13.

Lastly:

1- Within the above points, we have tackled how the Lord God in the Quran tells us about the future in the Hereafter. Those Quran-believing monotheists perform good deeds to be prepared and to be among winners on the Last Day; in contrast, Quran-hating deniers of the Hereafter ridicule and mock the Quranic verses about the Last Day; in fact, the vast majority of human beings in all eras are heedless and rarely ponder on the Hereafter. Everyone is free to choose to (dis)obey the Lord God and to (dis)believe in the Quran; this freedom ends upon one's death; the angels of death reassure the dying souls of the good people and rebuke the dying souls of the sinners, disbelievers, and deniers: "Surely, those who say: "Our Lord is God," and then go straight, the angels will descend upon them: "Do not fear, and do not grieve, but rejoice in the news of the Garden which you were promised. We are your allies in this life and in the Hereafter, wherein you will have whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you call for." (41:30-31); "How about when the angels take them at death, beating their faces and their bottoms?" (47:27); "If only you could see, as the angels take away those who disbelieve, striking their faces and their bottoms: "Taste the torment of the Burning." "That is because of what your hands have committed, and because God is not unjust to the servants."" (8:50-51).

2- The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "The Judgment of human beings has drawn near, but they turn away heedlessly. No new Remembrance comes to them from their Lord, but they listen to it playfully. Their hearts are distracted..." (21:1-3); this means that more than 1400 years ago, the Lord God has mentioned that the Day of Judgment has drawn near; yet, most human beings are heedless; most of the Muhammadans (who assume that they are to Muslims!) have prepared themselves for the Last Day by (A) rejecting and disbelieving in the Lord God's Quranic Verses, (B), sticking to falsehoods/lies known as hadiths, (C) tarnishing the name of Islam by committing heinous terrorist crimes and other atrocities ascribed to it, and (D) terrorizing peaceful preachers of the Quranic Truth who strive for the sake of the Lord God.

3- As for those monotheists who strive for the sake of Allah and who are being oppressed on earth as they are among the weak human beings, we advise and urge them to adhere to patience and to ponder deeply on these Quranic verses: "So be patient, with sweet patience. They see it distant. But We see it near. On the Day when the heaven will be like molten brass. And the mountains will be like tufted wool. No friend will care about his friend. They will be shown each other. The criminal wishes he would be redeemed from the torment of that Day by his children. And his spouse, and his brother. And his family that sheltered him. And everyone on earth, in order to save him. By no means! It is a Raging Fire.It strips away the scalps. It invites him who once turned his back and fled. And accumulated and hoarded." (70:5-18). As always, the Lord God says nothing but the Absolute Truth.

ANNEX III: Gog and Magog

Introduction:

1- As a student in an Azharite secondary school, we refused to believe in the mythical interpretations of the Quran (in the Middle-Ages books of Sunnite traditions) about Gog and Magog; the surface of the earth is explored fully and no one has seen Gog and Magog; during our adolescence, we kept wondering about their location, since the Quran asserts that they are underneath the crust of the earth and will remain so until they emerge on the surface of the earth and mingle with human beings shortly before the Hour takes place.

2- This topic preoccupied our mind for years; we believe in the Quranic facts about Gog and Magog, of course, but the persistent question within our mind (during our adolescence and youth) was as follows: what evidence have we to prove their existence?

3- In the 1980s, a Cairo-based independent newspaper, as well as a Cairo-based Leftist magazine, has published a translated book review about the theory of the existence of an advanced civilization many layers beneath the crust of the earth. Such reviews caught our attention of course; we felt that they may refer, unwittingly, to Gog and Magog mentioned in the Quran.

4- We visited the USA in 1988, and we bought some books which are connected with that topic; the following is a list of the titles of these books (which are written in English, of course).

"Hidden Worlds Fresh Clues to the Past" by M. H. J. Van der Veer and P. Moerman

"The Stairway to Heaven" by Zecharia Sitchin

"The Cave Of The Ancients" by Lobsang Rampa

"The Cosmic Connection" by Carl Sagan

"The Outer Space Connection" by Alan and Sally Landsburg

"Chariots of The Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past" by Erich Von Daniken

"Colony : Earth" by Richard E. Mooney

"Understanding MU" by James Churchward

"The Sacred Symbols of MU" by James Churchward

"The Dragons Of Eden" by Carl Sagan

"Miracles of the Gods: A Hard Look at the Supernatural" by Erich Von Daniken

"Forgotten Worlds" by Robert Charroux

"The Bermuda Triangle" by Charles Berlitz

"Limbo Of the Lost" by John Wallace Spencer

"The Devil’s Triangle" by Richard Winer

"In Search of Ancient Gods" by Erich Von Daniken

"The Gold of The Gods" by Erich Von Daniken

5- When we returned to Egypt ten months later (and after spending the worst two days of our life in the prison cell of the Egyptian State Security Apparatus as the officers examined carefully our books and papers brought from the USA), we kept busy reading the books whose titles are mentioned above, and we looked for similarities between what is written in these books and what is mentioned in the Quran about Gog and Magog. We kept all articles, about scientific discoveries and explorations, which appeared in Egyptian newspapers in the 1990s; we knew that such material will help us write our book titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science".

6- In 2007, we finished our book titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science", and the only manuscript of it was given by us, in VA, the USA, to our relative, Mr. We have not the luxury of time to rewrite this lost book now.

7- More details in countless websites on the topics covered in the list of books (mentioned in point no. 4 above) show the general interest in such topics; this means that the Quranic miraculous prediction about Gog and Magog, as the last sign of the advent of the Hour, is a topic of vital important. We hope that someday, we will have time and effort to rewrite the lost book of ours titled "Gog and Magog between the Quran and Modern Science", based on more detailed information from the internet, plus the information found in the abovementioned list of books.

Firstly: an overview about Gog and Magog:

1- Adam, the father of human beings, was NOT the successor of the Lord God on earth; this is a blasphemous Sunnite myth, and the truth is that Adam and his progeny are the successors, on earth, of Gog and Magog who controlled the earth but they were corrupt and committed bloodshed; the Lord God's Will has dictated that Gog and Magog are forced to be hidden beneath the crust of the earth to make room for human beings on the surface of the earth; shortly before the occurrence of the Hour, Gog and Magog will resurface and mingle with human beings; this is the last sign of the advent of the Hour.

2- The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "When your Lord said to the angels, "I am placing a successor on earth." They said, "Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?" He said, "I know what you do not know."" (2:30). We infer that before the creation of Adam and his wife, Gog and Magog controlled the earth and committed the sins of corruption and bloodshed; the angels who witnessed such crimes/sins feared that Adam and his progeny may commit the same sins/crimes perpetrated by Gog and Magog. This means that Adam and his progeny are the successors of Gog and Magog on earth.

3- The spread of the progeny of human beings on earth was limited, impeded, and hindered for an unknown period of time because of the existence of the corrupt, tyrannical, powerful Gog and Magog who controlled and dominated earth. To allow the progeny of Adam the chance to live on the surface of the earth as successors tested by the Lord God, the Lord God intervened to imprison Gog and Magog beneath the crust of the earth, as per what we infer from the story of Zu Al-Qarnayn in the Quranic Chapter 18.

Secondly: Within the Quranic Chapter 18, we read about the power granted by the Lord God to Zu Al-Qarnayn to separate between human beings and Gog and Magog:

1- Arabs knew about Zu Al-Qarnayn and asked Muhammad about it, and typically, Muhammad waited for the answer to descend in the Quran; he never answered any questions posed to him on his own; he waited for the Divine Revelation to provide answers: "And they ask you about Zu Al-Qarnayn. Say, "I will tell you something about him."" (18:83). Of course, there are gaps in the story of Zu Al-Qarnayn; we know little about him; the Quran does not mention everything about him; for sure, we are NEVER to guess or surmise about the metaphysical realm of the past so as not to embrace mythology and so as not to make conjectures as part of religion. The only thing we can do is the ponder deeply on the Quranic details about this topic (in the points below) without relying on Sunnite mythology which is, of course, rejected by all Quranists.

2- The Lord God has granted Zu Al-Qarnayn power and dominance on earth which surpassed those of Gog and Magog: "We established him on earth, and gave him all kinds of means. He pursued a certain course." (18:84-85). As per the Lord God's Will, Zu Al-Qarnayn used this power and dominance to imprison Gog and Magog beneath the crust of the earth to protect the progeny of Adam.

3- We note briefly certain features in the following verses about the dialogue between the children of Adam and Zu Al-Qarnayn: "They said, "O Zu Al-Qarnayn, Gog and Magog are spreading corruption on earth. Can we pay you, to build between us and them a wall?" He said, "What my Lord has empowered me with is better. But assist me with strength, and I will build between you and them a dam."" (18:94-95). The term (corruption) here reminds us with this verse containing the apprehension of the angels regarding Adam and his progeny: "When your Lord said to the angels, "I am placing a successor on earth." They said, "Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?" He said, "I know what you do not know."" (2:30). In the phrase uttered by Zu Al-Qarnayn (What my Lord has empowered me with is better), we notice the word (better); this mans he was more powerful than Gog and Magog and he managed to imprison them: "So they were unable to climb it, and they could not penetrate it. He said, "This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes true, He will turn it into rubble, and the promise of my Lord is always true." On that Day, We will leave them surging upon one another. And the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them together." (18:97-99).

Thirdly: Gog and Magog within the Quranic Chapter 21:

1- Gog and Magog are mentioned in the Quranic Chapter 21; we provide below an overview about this Quranic Chapter 21.

Section I of the Quranic Chapter 21: The verses 21:1-50 are about warning and preaching people, especially those heedless of the Last Day and the Hereafter; it offers a reminder of the destruction of ancient nations and urging people to adhere to monotheism: "The Judgment of human beings has drawn near, but they turn away heedlessly. No new Remembrance comes to them from their Lord, but they listen to it playfully. Their hearts are distracted, the unjust ones confer secretly, "Is this anything but a mortal like you? Will you take to sorcery, with open eyes?" He said, "My Lord knows what is said in the heaven and the earth; and He is the Hearer, the Knower." And they said, "A jumble of dreams," and, "He made it up," and, "He is a poet," "let him bring us a sign, like those sent to the ancients." None of the towns We destroyed before them had believed. Will they, then, believe? We did not send before you except men, whom We inspired. Ask the people of knowledge, if you do not know. We did not make them mere bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, and We saved them together with whomever We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. We have sent down to you a Book, containing your message. Do you not understand? How many a guilty town have We crushed, and established thereafter another people? Then, when they sensed Our might, they started running away from it. Do not run, but come back to your luxuries, and to your homes, that you may be questioned. They said, "Woe to us; we were among the unjust ones." This continued to be their cry, until We made them silent ashes. We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them for amusement. If We wanted amusement, We could have found it within Us, were We to do so. In fact, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it crushes it, so it vanishes. Woe unto you, for what you describe. To Him belongs everyone in the heavens and the earth. Those near Him are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they waver. They praise night and day, without ever tiring. Or have they taken to themselves gods from the earth who resurrect? If there were in them gods other than God, they would have gone to ruin. So glory be to God, Lord of the Throne, beyond what they allege. He will not be questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned. Or have they taken, besides Him, other gods? Say, "Bring your proof. This is a message for those with me, and a message of those before me." But most of them do not know the truth, so they turn away. We never sent a messenger before you without inspiring him that: "There is no God but I, so worship Me." And they say, "The Dominant Lord has taken to Himself a son." Be He glorified; they are but honored servants. They never speak before He has spoken, and they only act on His command. He knows what is before them, and what is behind them; and they do not intercede except for him whom He approves; and they tremble in awe of Him. And whoever of them says, "I am a god besides Him," We will reward him with Hell. Thus We reward the unjust ones. Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were one mass, and We tore them apart? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not believe? And We placed on earth stabilizers, lest it sways with them, and We placed therein signposts and passages, that they may be guided. And We made the sky a protected ceiling; yet they turn away from its signs. It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. We did not grant immortality to any human being before you. Should you die, are they then the immortal? Every soul will taste death. We burden you with adversity and prosperity - a test. And to Us you will be returned. When those who disbelieve see you, they treat you only with ridicule: "Is this the one who mentions your gods?" And they reject the mention of the Dominant Lord. The human being was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not seek to rush Me. And they say, "When will this promise come true, if you are truthful?" If those who disbelieve only knew, when they cannot keep the fire off their faces and off their backs, and they will not be helped. In fact, it will come upon them suddenly, and bewilder them. They will not be able to repel it, and they will not be reprieved. Messengers before you were also ridiculed, but those who jeered were surrounded by what they had ridiculed. Say, "Who guards you against the Dominant Lord by night and by day?" But they turn away from the mention of their Lord. Or do they have gods who can defend them against Us? They cannot help themselves, nor will they be protected from Us. We have given these enjoyments, and their ancestors, until time grew long upon them. Do they not see how We gradually reduce the land from its extremities? Are they then the victors? Say, "I am warning you through inspiration." But the deaf cannot hear the call when they are being warned. And when a breath of your Lord's punishment touches them, they say, "Woe to us, we were truly wicked." We will set up the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so that no soul will suffer the least injustice. And even if it be the weight of a mustard-seed, We will bring it up. Sufficient are We as Judge. We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and illumination, and a reminder for the righteous. Those who fear their Lord in private, and are apprehensive of the Hour. This too is a Blessed Message that We revealed. Are you going to deny it?" (21:1-50).

Section II of the Quranic Chapter 21: The verses 21:51-95 are about stories of previous prophets/messengers who conveyed the True Divine Monotheistic Religion of the Lord God; this is juxtaposed with the earthly/terrestrial, man-made religion of polytheism and falsehoods; the good pious ones will enter into Paradise and the polytheistic disbelievers will enter into Hell; no dead people return to life after their test has ended: "We gave Abraham his integrity formerly, and We knew him well. When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?" They said, "We found our parents worshiping them." He said, "You and your parents are in evident error." They said, "Are you telling us the truth, or are you just playing?" He said, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the One who created them, and I bear witness to that. "By God, I will have a plan for your statues after you have gone away." So he reduced them into pieces, except for their biggest, that they may return to it. They said, "Who did this to our gods? He is certainly one of the unjust ones." They said, "We heard a youth mentioning them. He is called Abraham." They said, "Bring him before the eyes of the people, so that they may witness." They said, "Are you the one who did this to our gods, O Abraham?" He said, "But it was this biggest of them that did it. Ask them, if they can speak." Then they turned to one another, and said, "You yourselves are the unjust ones." But they reverted to their old ideas: "You certainly know that these do not speak." He said, "Do you worship, instead of God, what can neither benefit you in anything, nor harm you? Fie on you, and on what you worship instead of God. Do you not understand?" They said, "Burn him and support your gods, if you are going to act." We said, "O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham." They planned to harm him, but We made them the worst losers. And We delivered him, and Lot, to the land that We blessed for all people. And We granted him Isaac and Jacob as a gift; and each We made righteous. And We made them leaders, guiding by Our command; and We inspired them to do good works, and to observe the prayer, and to give out charity. They were devoted servants to Us. And Lot - We gave him judgment and knowledge, and We delivered him from the town that practiced the abominations. They were wicked and perverted people. And We admitted him into Our mercy; for He was one of the righteous. And Noah, when he called before. So We answered him, and delivered him and his family from the great disaster. And We supported him against the people who rejected Our Verses. They were an evil people, so We drowned them all. And David and Solomon, when they gave judgment in the case of the field, when some people's sheep wandered therein by night; and We were witnesses to their judgment. And so We made Solomon understand it, and to each We gave wisdom and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains along with David to sing Our praises, and the birds as well - surely We did. And We taught him the making of shields for you, to protect you from your violence. Are you, then, thankful? And to Solomon the stormy wind, blowing at His command towards the land that We have blessed. We are aware of everything. And of the devils were some that dived for him, and performed other, lesser tasks. But We kept them restrained. And Job, when he cried out to his Lord: "Great harm has afflicted me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." So We answered him, lifted his suffering, and restored his family to him, and their like with them - a mercy from Us, and a reminder for the worshipers. And Ishmael, and Idris, and Zu Al-Kifl; each was one of the patient ones. And We admitted them into Our mercy. They were among the righteous. And Jonah, when he stormed out in fury, thinking We had no power over him. But then He cried out in the darkness, "There is no God but You! Glory to You! I was one of the unjust ones!" So We answered him, and saved him from the affliction. Thus We save the believers. And Zachariah, when he called out to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone, even though you are the Best of heirs." So We answered him, and gave him John. And We cured his wife for him. They used to vie in doing righteous deeds, and used to call on Us in love and awe, and they used to humble themselves to Us.  And she who guarded her virginity. We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign to the world. This nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. But they splintered themselves into factions. They will all return to Us. Whoever does righteous deeds, and is a believer, his effort will not be denied. We are writing it down for him. There is a ban on the town that We had destroyed - that they will not return."(21:51-95).

Section III of the Quranic Chapter 21: The verses 21:96-112 are about one of the signs of the advent of the Hour; namely, the emergence of Gog and Magog from under the crust of the earth to its surface; we find also information about what will happen when the Hour takes place; the last verses of the Quranic Chapter 21 contain preaching and warning similar to what we read in the opening verses: "Until, when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they swarm down from every mound. The promise of truth has drawn near. The eyes of those who disbelieved will stare in horror: "Woe to us. We were oblivious to this. In fact, we were among the unjust ones. You and what you worship besides God are fuel for Hell. You will enter into it. Had these been gods, they would not have entered into it. All will abide in it forever. In it they will wail. In it they will not hear. As for those who deserved goodness from Us - these will be kept away from it. They will not hear its hissing, and they will forever abide in what their hearts desire. The Supreme Fear will not worry them, and the angels will receive them: "This is your Day which you were promised." On the Day when We fold the heaven, like the folding of a book. Just as We began the first creation, We will repeat it - a promise binding on Us. We will act. We have written in Zabur, after the Remembrance, that the earth will be inherited by My righteous servants. Indeed, in this is a message for people who worship. We did not send you except as mercy to the humankind. Say, "It is revealed to me that your God is One God. Are you going to submit?" But if they turn away, say, "I have informed you sufficiently. Although I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far." He knows what is said openly, and He knows what you conceal. "And I do not know whether it is perhaps a trial for you, and an enjoyment for a while." He said, "My Lord, judge with justice." And, "Our God is the Dominant Lord Whose help is sought against what you allege."" (21:96-112).

2- Before talking about the emergence of Gog and Magog, the Lord God asserts that dead people (among the ancient nations destroyed by Him) will never return back to life on earth: "There is a ban on the town that We had destroyed - that they will not return." (21:95); the exception is the return of non-human creatures; i.e., Gog and Magog: "Until, when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they swarm down from every mound. The promise of truth has drawn near. The eyes of those who disbelieved will stare in horror: "Woe to us. We were oblivious to this. In fact, we were among the unjust ones." (21:96-97).

Fourthly: we infer the following points from the Quranic Chapters 18 and 21:

1- Gog and Magog were the mighty, powerful, dominant ones who controlled the earth; the Lord God has allowed their being imprisoned beneath the crust of the earth to give the chance for the generations of human beings to live on the surface of the earth for many eras – to be tested. Shortly before the Hour of the destruction of the universe, Gog and Magog will emerge on the surface of the earth and mingle with human beings.

2- Before the destruction of Planet Earth with the Quake (see the Quranic Chapter 99), Gog and Magog who reside beneath the crust of the earth will feel what will happen because of their scientific progress/advancement; this will drive them to emerge within the surface of the earth; they will mingle with human beings – and then, the Hour will take place. In other words, one generation after the other, Gog and Magog adapted to living beneath the crust of the earth; at one point, they will feel the eminent destruction of the earth; this will drive them to emerge on its surface; their scientific progress/advancement might make them think to seek to flee Planet Earth to settle in other planets; this will be in vain; the Hour means the total destruction of the whole universe, not merely the earth.

3- The Quranic description of the emergence of Gog and Magog on the surface of the earth is unique; suddenly, the earth will be filled with holes everywhere from which Gog and Magog will emerge; the earth will seem as if it were pregnant with them. From the outer space, the earth will seem like a huge watermelon filled with holes from which new creatures will emerge and mingle with human beings. The Lord God says the following about human beings and Gog and Magog: "On that Day, We will leave them surging upon one another. And the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them together." (18:99); "Until, when Gog and Magog are let loose, and they swarm down from every mound. The promise of Truth has drawn near. The eyes of those who disbelieved will stare in horror: "Woe to us. We were oblivious to this. In fact, we were among the unjust ones."" (21:96-97).

Fifthly: the emergence of Gog and Magog is the last sign before the advent of the Hour:

1- The Quran-hating persons, especially atheists, who seek to undermine God's Word ridicule and mock the story of Gog and Magog and Zu Al-Qarnayn. In contrast, the Quran-believing pious monotheists know that the Quran is the Absolute Truth from the Lord God and that it contains miraculous scientific indications and future events which include the signs of the advent of the Hour.

2- Prophet Muhammad never knew when the Hour will take place; the only information about the Hour is found in the Quran and not in the false hadiths forcibly ascribed to him two centuries after his death. We know from the Quran that the Hour is drawing near; Moses was told the following by the Lord God at Mount Al-Tur, in Sinai, Egypt: "The Hour is coming - but I keep it almost hidden - so that each soul will be paid for what it endeavors. And do not let him who denies it and follows his desire turn you away from it, lest you fall." (20:15-16). The Quran, the Last Message from the Lord God to all humanity, asserts the fact that the Hour is drawing near: "Are they just waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? Its signs have already come. But how will they be reminded when it has come to them?" (47:18); " The Hour has drawn near..." (54:1); "The Judgment of human beings has drawn near, but they turn away heedlessly." (21:1). The Lord God says in the Quran: "The command of God came, so do not rush it. Glory be to Him; exalted above what they associate." (16:1); this is in response to those who rush the coming of the Hour; the divine command has been already issued so that it will take place; what remains is the execution of this command; i.e., the Hour will take place in a certain point in time, preordained by the Lord God, as per the time on earth which differ in the sense of time in the metaphysical Upper Realm.

3- The Quran mentions the signs of the advent of the Hour; some of them have occurred in our modern age; we mean the underlined, italicized words in this verse in particular: "The likeness of the present life is this: water that We send down from the sky is absorbed by the plants of the earth, from which the people and the animals eat. Until, when the Earth puts on its fine appearance, and is beautified, and its inhabitants think that they have mastered it, Our command descends upon it by night or by day, and We turn it into stubble, as if it had not flourished the day before. We thus clarify the Verses for people who reflect." (10:24). Human beings have reached the stage of ever-increasing scientific progress/advancement; this means they will assume that they master/control the earth; this means the Hour of the destruction of the universe is very near as per 10:24.

4- The signs of the advent of the Hour include the emergence of a strange creature which will talk to human beings: "And when the Word has fallen on them, We will bring out for them from the earth a creature which will tell them that people are uncertain of Our Verses." (27:82). This creature is the penultimate sign of the advent of the Hour; i.e., it will occur before the last one; namely, the emergence of Gog and Magog is the last sign of the advent of the Hour. This means the Hour of the destruction of the universe will take place shortly after the emergence of Gog and Magog on the surface of the earth.

Sixthly: Gog and Magog is part of the miraculous Quranic predictions which will be realized shortly before the advent of the Hour:

1- We assert here again that the contemporaries of Muhammad (among both the People of the Book and the Gentiles) knew some oral narratives about Zu Al-Qarnayn and Gog and Magog; this is why they asked Muhammad about Zu Al-Qarnayn, and he typically waited for the Quranic answer: "And they ask you about Zu Al-Qarnayn. Say, "I will tell you something about him."" (18:83). The Quranic answer came in a way which fits the human mind of people at the time (i.e., the 7th century A.D. in Arabia); namely, without many details. Of course, the few details of this Quranic answer are enough for warning and preaching true monotheists who believe in the Hereafter and in the Quran as the Lord God's Word.

2- Of course, the Quranic miraculous scientific indications and the Quranic predictions precede modern science and explorations; many scientists within their explorations now assert the existence of an advanced pre-human civilization which dominated the earth, as per their examining and studying of sites of some ruins and monuments; some scientists assert the existence of (Atlantis); many scientist, explorers, and writers assume that the mysterious owners of this pre-human civilization are hidden somewhere and have mysterious relations with the surface on earth (e.g., within the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle). We maintain that this advanced civilization that preceded the existence of human beings on earth belongs to Gog and Magog who, as per God's Word (i.e., the Quran), live now underneath the crust of the earth and who will emerge on its surface shortly before the advent of the Hour.

Seventhly: strange phenomena unexplained by modern science:

1- In his books, the Swiss author Erich Von Daniken (often quoted by the Egyptian writer Anis Mansour) asserts that there are ruins/monuments which indicate an advanced civilization which dominated the earth before the existence of humanity on the planet. Some writers ascribe this civilization to aliens; we do not believe in the existence of aliens, of course. The explorers and scientists who examined the Pyramids of Giza, in Egypt, the monuments in India, Mexico, etc., and Stonehenge in Britain (this is not to mention Antarctica and Siberia) have unveiled many secrets within the topic of this pre-human civilization. There are proofs (e.g., ancient maps) that some people in the Old World (before and during the Middle-Ages) knew about the existence of the two Americas and of what came to be known as the Bermuda Triangle.

2- In his books, Erich Von Daniken also links this mysterious pre-human civilization to the phenomenon of UFOs or flying saucers witnessed by the Ancient Egyptians in the Pharaonic Era, some Hebrews, and some Europeans in different stages in history. The internet is filled now with websites with interesting photos of flying saucers and UFOs. Some people theorize about the hypothesis that the creatures of the pre-human advanced civilization are trying to contact human beings and to explore and examine the changes that happened to Planet Earth.

3- Some people (e.g., the authors Charles Berlitz and Richard Winer) theorize about the hypothesis that the creatures of the pre-human advanced civilization are kidnapping samples of human beings, planes, ships, etc. within the Bermuda Triangle and the Devil's Sea near Japan (a.k.a. the Dragon's Triangle and the Pacific Bermuda Triangle) to examine and study these samples.

4- Some theorists assume there are 'aliens' who explore the earth through flying saucers and UFOs photographed by some scientists and amateurs; within certain scientific documentaries in some TV channels and websites, there are news about (1) dead 'aliens' who are partly cells and partly robots with strange head shapes, (2) space ships never built by human beings, (3) secrets about 'aliens' supposedly kept hidden by the USA government, and (4) signs of advanced technology which predates the existence of human beings on earth.

5- We do not believe in the existence of aliens (in the sense of 'creatures' living in other planets somewhere in the universe); we believe that the much-talked-of advanced, pre-human civilization belongs to Gog and Magog who are hidden beneath the crust of the earth; we assume they have space ships and/or flying saucers which kidnap samples of human beings to study them or do some experiments on them; these space ships and/or flying saucers may have allowed Gog and Magog to explore the outer space as well.

6- We also assume that Gog and Magog do this to make sure they know all about the Planet Earth while they continue living under its crust as they have adapted themselves to this; they may feel that human beings are endangering the earth; they may feel troubled by major wars and events on the surface of the earth and they sent flying saucers which hover above military bases, battlefields, nuclear explosions, etc. Of course, such theories need to be verified with more proofs. We are quite sure that in the future decades, more details and proofs will be revealed about such topics.

Lastly:

We sincerely hope to have enough time and effort to show to the world, in our coming writings, the Quranic interpretation or explanation of these phenomena acknowledged by the people of the West but whose scientific explanations vary; behind most of such phenomena is Gog and Magog about whom the Lord God has informed us in His Word, the Quran, more than 14 centuries ago; the Quran asserts the presence of Gog and Magog inside the crust of the Earth and that they will emerge on the surface of the Earth shortly before the Hour (i.e., the destruction of the universe) takes place. The Hour has drawn near; glorified be our Lord God who will inherit the Earth, and all things and people on it, and to Whom all human beings will return in the Hereafter.
