Naasa Mahmoud, the wife of Abdellatif Said –one of the quranists who has been arrested for over a month and a half now, said that she couldn’t continue to live at her house in Mosturod among state security informants who managed to convince her neighbors that ‘we are dissolute infidels who don’t believe in God, and that made it impossible for me and my children to live there, and I had to escape to live with the family of my husband’.

Naasa told the story of the arrest of her husband on the 29 of May “the state security force kidnapped her husband chained and blindfolded in the middle of the screams of my two children –the elder one is 4 years old’. She added that for 3 weeks she kept looking for him without a clue till she knew through a TV program that he was detained in the state security prison. She said that she filed a report after two days since her husband was arrested, and DA questioned her for 3 days and in the end, they didn’t let her know where her husband was detained.
Naasa added that when she knew about where he was arrested, she requested a permission to meet him 10 times, and in each time she’d get the permission to meet with him, but the state security prison would refuse to execute the permission and will not allow her to meet her husband, and when she finally managed to meet with, she says it was very clear that he was tortured.
Naasa declined the charges of contempt of religion against the quranists -the charges was strengthened by the statement of the Mofty of Egypt who said that the Quranists are infidels and do not believe in the Prophet, she said that there has been many doubtful sayings attributed to the prophet, ‘And that made us believe in only the Quran’.

Amr Hashem –The chairman of the religious committee at the Egyptian Parliament, condemned the American games that support the people who call themselves the Quranists. He said that ‘we refuse this interference in our internal affairs’, and added that it opens a door to attack Islam through doubting the Prophet Sunna. He added that such interference aims to the strategic goal that enemies of Islam have always wanted to achieve.
