Urgent Case for Dissolution ETUF
Egypt, CTUWS, 26 April 2011: Today the General Coordinator of CTUWS along with other activists from the center have filed an urgent case for the State Council Issues against the president of the High Military Council in his capacity, the Prime Ministries in his capacity, and the Manpower Minster in his capacity, for not deciding the dissolution of the Egyptian Trade Unions Federation ETUF which consequently leads to the legal expiration of ETUF as a workers representative body in all relevant councils, authorities, and events, as well as deconstructing of its existing administrative structures, and putting its funds under judicial receivership until the judicial determination to whom these funds are belonging to. The urgent case has been recorded under No. 30121 for year No.65 administrative court- the first circuit.

The Center for Trade Union & Workers' Services (CTUWS) - Honored the French Republic’s Human Rights Prize- is an Egyptian non-governmental organization established in March 1990 by some labor leaders and activists guided by their experience in the Egyptian labor movement. They vowed to meet the urgent need to form an independent organization that advances and supports the needs of workers in a democratic manner, provide direct support and services to the workers and fill the void created by the “official” trade union organization which failed to achieve its fundamental obligations.
