El Sadat encourages the Egyptian voluntary contributions for NGOs and civil Associations
Mr. Anwar Esmat El-Sadat, memberof the Board of Directors of the General Federation of NGOs proposed a commandment aimed to encourage the corporate social responsibilityof the commercial and industrial organizationsto make voluntary contributions for the community development organizationsand associations which are subject to the provisions of the Egyptian laws. Where the amendment focuses on subject 23, Article 8 of Law No. 91 for the year 2005, which concerns the income tax where a deduction of 10% should be considered as donations and subsidies from the amount of tax already imposed rather than the annual net profitfor the taxpayer.
This initiative is to encourage contributions and social participation of the corporate in the activities of the nonprofit organizations, in order not to raise any suspicions about foreign funding, and accusations of collaboration with the parties involved in serving and developing the community.
