Two New Additions to the Citizens for Global Solutions Team

Two New Additions to the Citizens for Global Solutions Team

I'm pleased to announce that we have two new staff members joining our team at Citizens for Global Solutions:

Ariela Blätter has joined our Management Team as the Director of Policy and Programs. Ariela comes to us from Amnesty International (AI) where she most recently, served as the Senior Director for International Programs.  During her seven year tenure at AI she also served as Deputy Managing Director for Government Relations and as the Director of the Conflict Prevention and Response Center.  Ariela comes from an extensive advocacy and law background-she is an international human rights lawyer that has served as a lobbyist at the State, Congressional and international level.  Most notably, she served as a permanent representative to the UN on the establishment of the International Criminal Court, overseeing a team of NGO's lobbyists and policy staff. Additionally, she was an international affairs advocate for the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, where she gained significant experience lobbying members of the State House and US Congress on foreign policy.
Anu Joshi has joined our staff as the National Outreach Coordinator.  Anu is a native Californian with an undergraduate degree and Masters in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley.  While at Berkeley, Anu was the President of the UC Student Association, which represented over 200,000 students to the Legislature, Regents and Governor.  Anu has worked as a Child Welfare Worker in the Bay Area and a field organizer for Barack Obama's Presidential campaign in rural North Florida.  Anu is first- generation American citizen and loves to visit her relatives in India whenever she can.  She's committed to a life of social justice and is excited to work with the members and activists of Citizens for Global Solutions towards a more just and peaceful world.

Join Partners for Global Change:

Nationwide Teleconference
Saturday, November 14, 2009
1:00 p.m. Eastern
Dial: 888-299-4099
Verbal Passcode: VJ48334

This December representatives of countries from around the world will be gathering in Copenhagen to create a new protocol on global warming.  That's why this Saturday our bi-monthly Partners call will focus on the impact the United States can and should have on this process.
Gillian Caldwell, Executive Director of 1Sky will talk about Copenhagen and the US's role in creating strong global climate change policy.  David Doniger, Policy Director of the NRDC Climate Center, will focus on the Kerry/Boxer Senate climate change legislation and whether or not it goes far enough.  In addition, Don Kraus, Citizens for Global Solutions CEO, will discuss the need for the countries in Copenhagen to all "Speak the Same Language" when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions.
You can also visit the Partners website at: http://globalsolutions.org/partners
This is going to be an exciting call with two national experts on the issue of climate change and a chance for members to ask questions about climate change.  New Partners are always welcome and the only requirement is an email address!  Please email me at ajoshi@globalsolutions.org to be added to the list or with any questions.

Thanks for all you do,
Don Kraus
