I.Q.C. Statement Concerning A Call By A Certain Church to burn The Glorious Quran

The Center received with utmost regret and rage, a news item about the intention of (The Dove World Outreach Center), in Gainesville, Florida, U.S.A., to hold a Quran burning event commemorating the 9th anniversary of September attacks, this coming September 11th., also promoting the idea of making said date, a Worldwide Day For Quran Burning.

The I.Q.C. would like to stress the following facts:

1-It condemns and deplores ALL types of fanaticism and extremism perpetrated by any concern.

2-Those extremists, though attributed to Islam, and although they commit those atrocities renounced by Islam yet, they dare not act in a derogatory fashion toward the New Testament, The Messiah or his mother Mary, may peace and blessing be upon them both. Since the Quran describes the Gospel of the Messiah, peace be upon him, as a guidance and a light (5:46), it also describes the Messiah, peace be upon him, as a messenger of God, a Word From God and a Commandment from Him.(4:171), it also describes Mary, peace be upon her, as one that God had chosen, purified her and elevated her above all womanhood (3:42), He set her as a higher example for all believers, men and women.(66:12). On the other hand, western fanaticism is heaped upon the religion of Islam, upon the Quran and upon the person of the prophet, peace be upon him. This western fanaticism gives extremist terrorists the justification to commit their crimes denounced by Islam before anyone else.

3- We used to think that fanaticism and extremism were associated with backwardness; we were startled to find them flourishing in the advanced West, manifesting itself in a very obvious ignorant fashion.

4- Those western fanatics do not realize the following facts:

4/1- Most victims of extreme terrorism are Muslims

4/2- Terrorism itself is a political act disguised as religiously motivated. Its fountainheads and political motivations are not far from American policy which used the extremists in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union (The Mujahedeen), it remains, the military intervention in Afghanistan and in Iraq as the prime instigator for terrorism. This political background has nothing to do with Islam or Muslims.

4/3- The vast majority of Muslims reject Terrorism, as Muslim scholars, fore fronted by The Quranists, stand firmly against those extreme terrorists declaring its contradiction to Islam.

4/4- Those fanatics, who despise the Quran through their deeds, do not understand or comprehend the Quran, their understanding of it depends on depraved translations, or medieval interpretations, a period of ignorance and religious fanaticism. If they were to look up our website, www.ahl-quran.com, and read up on how we follow and understand the Quran through its own terminology, they would come to the conclusion that Islam is the religion of peace, tolerance, justice, freedom, compassion and all high lofty values.

5- The I.Q.C. exhorts all peace loving and religious harmony advocates to persuade those church elders, to stop that nonsense, and to spread and propagate the message of love and tolerance instead of hatred, as God Almighty commands in the Glorious Quran:

Consider his cry: O my Lord! surely they are a people who do not believe (44:88)

So turn away from them and say, Peace, for they shall soon come to know (44:89)

And let us all have as our slogan what Almighty God have said in the Quran:

And help one another in goodness and piety, and do not help one another in sin and aggression;(5:2)

it is the west that must learn about Quran and not muslims
Dear Dr Ahmad i think we have to preach Islam in the west countries by correcting their wrong understanding of the Quran better than wasting time with muslims that see the wrong and do not want to change it.

ISLAM is AGAINST Terrorism 1
We as Muslims denounce all sort of terrorism and discrimination based on religion. There are fanatics in every religion, but it does not mean everyone who believes in that religion agrees with what the fanatics. It ...is not fair for anyone to judge a whole believe based on an act of minorities they do not represent the actual believers.
