Greetings from your friends at the National Endowment for Democracy! Having just bid farewell to our Spring 2008 Fellows, we already find ourselves looking forward to the arrival of a new group of fellows this October. As we await their arrival, we are turning to you, our seasoned Reagan-Fascell Alumni, for your assistance in spreading the word about our annual competition for fellowships in 2008–2009. As alumni, you are ideally situated to help us publicize our fellowship opportunities among your colleagues and counterparts in the field of human rights and democracy promotion. We invite you to take a moment to review the enclosed materials and forward them to anyone in your region whom you feel would be interested in applying for a Reagan-Fascell fellowship.

Included below, and in the attached flyer, is a brief announcement describing the fellows program. We would be grateful if you could share the enclosed materials in any way you see fit—for instance, by way of an email announcement, web posting, electronic newsletter, office bulletin, or by word of mouth. We are also interested in opportunities to announce our fellowship competition through print advertisements in any publications you might recommend.

We are pleased to announce that our newly updated Reagan-Fascell Information Booklet and Application Guidelines and 2009–2010 Applicant Information Form are available on our website for candidates considering applying for a fellowship. These application materials may be downloaded from our website at http://www.ned.org/forum/reagan-fascell.html. Our application deadline this year has been extended until Monday, November 10, 2008.
