After the Uprisings: Women on Rights, Religion, and Rebuilding

On June 25, 2012, you are invited to Gallup world headquarters in Washington, D.C., to learn about the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies' latest findings on women and the Arab uprisings. Gallup will release its newest findings and discuss recent developments in transitioning Arab societies and their effect on women.

As the Arab world takes its first steps toward self-governance, understanding the priorities and aspirations of the regions' people has taken on increased importance. The future role of women within transitioning Arab societies has emerged as a key debate topic as concerns linger over whether new governments can safeguard women's interests.

Join us to learn more as we address:
  • gender gaps on issues of equality
  • attitudes toward Sharia law as a source of legislation
  • gender and Egypt's liberal and Islamist parties
  • economic troubles and religion as impediments to women's rights
