Decrease and Increase of Faith

Published in September 5, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, …   I can't understand how faith might decrease in pure hearts of monotheists; it certainly increases as per these verses: "...They were youths who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance." (18:13); "...and when His Verses are read to them, they increase them in faith..." (8:2). True believers, I think, will never have decreased levels of faith as they are keen on gratifying their Lord God all the time ............ Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

Piety (or lack thereof) is the real criterion; faith of someone may increase or decrease with the passage of time; people may (never) pass tests of their lifetimes. Of course, no one enters into Paradise except the pious ones – we mean those who died as pious people. These verses apply to them: "Those who are righteous - when an impulse from Satan strikes them, they remind themselves, and immediately see clearly." (7:201); "And race towards forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous. Those who give in prosperity and adversity, and those who restrain anger, and those who forgive people. God loves the doers of good. And those who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God and ask forgiveness for their sins - and who forgives sins except God? And they do not persist in their wrongdoing while they know." (3:133-135). The disobedient disbelievers/polytheists have decreased levels of faith and they are cursed by the Lord God: "And they said, “Our hearts are sealed.” Rather, God has cursed them for their ingratitude. They have little faith." (2:88); "...But God has cursed them for their disbelief; they do not believe except a little." (4:46).

Words of the Lord God

Published in September 6, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … In the Quranic verses 18:109 and 31:27, we read about the expression (words of God); does this expression refer to His Commands/Decrees or words of the Quran itself? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

The expression (words of God) refers to His commands and decrees in some Quranic contexts (e.g., 2:37, 2:124, 6:34, 8:7, 10:64, 10:82, and 42:24); in other Quranic contexts, it refers to the Divine Revelation of Celestial Scriptures/Books (e.g., 7:158, 6:115, 18:27, and 66:12). Of course, commands/decrees of the Lord God are countless: "Say, “If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the Words of my Lord run out,” even if We were to bring the like of it in addition to it." (18:109); "If all the trees on earth were pens, filled by the ocean, with seven more oceans besides, the Words of God would not run out. God is Majestic and Wise." (31:27).

Pondering the Quran

Published in September 6, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … I spend hours reading your great writings which ponder the Quran; would such readings be rewarded by God as they help me ponder the Quran? What is your own view? … Thank you …

Answer:

Of course, you must specify time to ponder the Quranic text itself. Of course, it is a religious duty to study and ponder the Quran; this includes reading our Quranist writings (and writings of those who have deep Quranic knowledge) but within bearing in mind that our writings and views (and any people's writings) are human intellectual endeavors which might be true or not; they are relative and not absolute, and they require constant revision and correction whenever necessary. Islam is the Quran only; it is OK that you ponder the Quranic text within our Quranist vision and perspective explained on our website.

Is Telling Lies OK?!

Published in September 9, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … Within True Islam, is it OK that one may tell (white) lies in special cases to help solve problems and settle disputes? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

This is OK in cases when you must or have to do this; we mean when this is extremely necessary or unavoidable; this is left to your own estimation and reasoning; the Lord Allah knows one's good/bad intentions, of course.

Question: … Dear Sir, … The Quranic term (rijal) refers to men/males, but in some contexts, the meaning is not so! What do you think? … Thank you …

Answer:

We have written before that this term has three meanings as per the context at hand: (1) males/men, (2) those who are traveling on foot, and (3) good men who have great stances.

Shiite Narratives/Hadiths

Published in September 11, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, …  What is your view of Shiite narratives/hadiths? … Thank you …

Answer:

They are never part of Islam; this applies to Sunnite and Sufi narratives/hadiths as well. The Shiite, Sunnite, and Sufi religions are terrestrial religions of Satan based on devilish revelations which contradict Islam (i.e., the Quran). We focus more on the Sunnite and Sufi ones in our writings because this is our field of specialization when we studied and taught at Al-Azhar University. We know less about Shiite narratives/hadiths when compared to our knowledge of the Sunnite and Sufi ones. Some narratives (of Shiites and others) are part of history; this history (which might be true or not and it should be studied by historians) has nothing to do with the Islamic faith at all.

This Is Not Distortion

Published in September 11, 2019

Question:  … Dear Sir, … Why does the Quran distort the original Hebrew/Aramaic names of messengers/prophets?! Why Abraham is Ibrahim, Jesus is Eissa, John is Yahya, etc. in the Arabic/Quranic tongue?! … Thank you …

Answer:

This is not distortion at all; the Arabic and Hebrew tongues are derived from one Aramaic root; some words in such tongues differ in their pronunciation despite the shared root. Thus, this linguistic difference does not pertain to distortion: the name of Abraham is Ibrahim in the Quranic/Arabic tongue; it is Ephraim in the Hebrew tongue; such variations are never deemed to be distortions at all.

Test and Choice

Published in September 11, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … The Omniscient Lord God knows that in the eras after the death of Muhammad, people will differ regarding the Quran; why have not they been guided by the Quran? Why was it revealed, then?! Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

The Quran (as well as previous Divine Books) is the source of guidance; as per of the test of life, people are created as free agents who choose to (dis)obey and to (dis)believe and to be (mis)guided. This is the responsibility which results from freedom. Our choices in faith (or lack thereof) are the factors leading to our fate in the Hereafter (either in Hell or in Paradise); there are more than one thousand Quranic verses about this topic.

The Barsakh Tongue

Published in September 17, 2019

Question: …  Dear Sir, …  You have written that angels, jinn, and devils exist in different Barsakh/metaphysical levels which overlap with our earth; yet, how do they understand different tongues of human beings?! What is the tongue of such ethereal beings in Barsakh?! …  Thank you …

Answer:

The feelings/monologues of souls and ethereal creatures are the same universal tongue shared by them; this applies to human souls and Barsakh creatures; of course, each have their own tongues. Yet, angels and devils feel what is inside the souls of human beings; i.e., feelings of hypocrisy/disbelief and reverence/piety within prayers (or lack of them); this is how angels write our deeds and this is how devils tempt us and whisper evil thoughts into our souls. This is why we assert that piety and concentration within prayers are important than to pray in Arabic or in other tongues.

Agreement Only in Balderdash

Published in September 17, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir,  … Some Shiite and Sunnite hadiths are exactly the same despite the competition between Shiite and Sunnite authors during the Abbasid Era; why is that? As a historian, you have an explanation for this phenomenon of shared hadiths, for sure … Thank you …

Answer:

There are two reasons for it; (1) both sides agree only as far as balderdash and nonsense are concerned; both sides deify Muhammad as an omniscient intercessor; both sides deify some mortals and items/relics/tombs. (2) The other reason is that some Shiites who practice Taqiyya (http://www.ahl-alquran.com/English/show_article.php?main_id=17632) pretended to be Sunnite authors to make their Shiite hadiths infiltrate the Sunnite books. Of course, when Hulago destroyed Baghdad and its library, some books were rewritten in Egypt during the Mameluke Era; some Shiites took advantage of this to interpolate their Shiite narratives/hadiths into the Sunnite books of fiqh and hadiths.

About the Quranic Verse 20:55

Published in September 18, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by this verse: "From it We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will bring you out another time." (20:55)? …  Thank you …

Answer:

There are Barsakh levels of heavens and of the earth; souls of the dead people enter into Barsakh tombs of the earth; they are like physical tombs of dead bodies. The souls, upon Resurrection, get out of their Barsakh tombs of the earth when the earth and the universe is destroyed when the Hour comes; the earthly bodies which turned to dust are NOT resurrected. Resurrected souls will wear eternal bodies woven from their good/bad deeds. Please read our book about Barsakh found in English on this link:

So That They May Be Guided

Published in September 18, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir,  … What is the use of education and culture if people are mostly like animals with bovine stupidity as they are heedless of the Hereafter?! Why do they disregard the Quran?! why do their uncultivated minds ignore the Quranic message and warning?! Since God knows this, why He has revealed the Quran in the first place?! … Thank you …

Answer:

The Lord God has revealed the Quran so that they may reason, understand, and guide themselves (see 2:186, 23:49, 6:65, and 7:176); the human beings enjoy absolute freedom of choice as far as religion is concerned. Sadly, most human beings in all eras choose to follow their desires and whims and they disobey the Lord God because they reject His Word (i.e., the Quran) and prefer devilish revelations; God is never unjust towards them; they have wronged themselves; they lose in this world and in the next one – forever.

Question: … Dear Sir, … I'm a young man in my late twenties...Am I drawing nearer to the Lord God when I read (on a daily basis) your books and articles? What do you think? …  Thank you …

Answer:

You draw nearer to the Lord God on the Last Day when you die as a pious monotheist who dedicated his religion and acts of worship to the Dominant Lord God only.

About the Quranic Verse 66:12

Published in September 19, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir,  … The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "And Mary, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her womb, and so We breathed into her of Our Spirit; and she believed in the truth of her Lord’s Words and His Books, and was one of the devout.". What is meant by the underlined part?! … Thank you …

Answer:

This means guarding one's chastity by never fornicating; this piety has nothing to do with being (un)married.

Shiite Balderdash!

Published in September 19, 2019

Question: … Dear Sir, … What do you think of this Shiite narrative/hadith: the prescient Prophet Muhammad predicted to his daughter Fatima (wife of Ali) that those who weep and mourn the murder of Hussein (her son) will never enter into Hell but will enter into Paradise................She wept his loss but laughed as she waited for Paradise.........   … Thank you …

Answer:

This laughter-inducing Shiite balderdash/nonsense has nothing to do with Islam; as per the Quran, Muhammad never knew the future; he never predicted anything. He knew nothing about the Last Day except what is revealed in the Quran; hence, he never knew that his grandson will get killed. It is silly to weep/mourn for someone while assuming to enter into Paradise that way even when grave sins are committed! Those who deify Hussein are polytheists who never use their faculty reasoning; is the murder of Hussein a deicide, then?! Are deities who die and get killed deserve to be worshiped?! This is utter nonsense. It is against Islam to deify any human beings, prophets or non-prophets. Why Shiites do not mourn the death of Fatima and Ali, then?! The deified Ali got killed yet no one among the Shiites mourn for his loss; why?! Mourning the dead people (prophets or non-prophets) is never part of Islam (or its rituals) as a religion. Would murderers, thieves, and tyrants who consume ill-gotten money enter into Paradise (and not the Hell they deserve) for weeping over the loss/murder of Hussein?! This is very silly! By the way, the soul of Hussein is in Barsakh like all souls of the dead; he never knows about his worshipers; he does not know he is being deified; dead souls in Barsakh are in a state of timelessness and senselessness; they never know about anything happens on earth. Yet, polytheistic Shiites wound themselves and weep/mourn annually the murder of Hussein, while assuming they will enter into Paradise! This is sheer madness/insanity. If they never repented before their death, their fate is in Hell for their polytheism.

Abdul-Aziz Ibn Baz

Published in August 3, 2007

Question: … Dear Sir, … Some Saudis assume that the late Wahabi blind sheikh Abdul-Aziz Ibn Baz is the grand imam of all 'Muslims' and the most knowledgeable man on earth regarding the Quran; yet, he was illiterate; his fatwas (which he dictated) contain the erroneous view that the sun revolves around the earth! He never authored any books, of course. How come that he is deemed as the grand imam of all 'Muslims' and the most knowledgeable man regarding the Quran?!   … Thank you …

Answer:

Of course, dead people will be judged by the Lord God on the Last Day. We briefly assert here that we judge his fatwas. Blind people may be geniuses and great authors (who dictate their books) like the Egyptian thinker Taha Hussein. Ibn Baz was a pupil to writings of Wahabi Hanbali extremists like Ibn Taymiyya, Ibn Al-Qayyim, and Ibn Abdul-Wahab. Their Sunnite writings have nothing to do with Islam; thus, the views/fatwas of Ibn Baz have nothing to do with Islam; some Saudis deify/sanctify Ibn Baz as they do so with all clergymen and Sunnite authors/imams of the past and the present. It is better to ponder the Quran and to keep up with new discoveries in science in our modern era than to dispute over dead authors like Ibn Baz and his likes.

Political Fatwas?!

Published in May 1, 2007

Question: … Dear Sir, …  I admire the fact that in the Ottoman Era, there was one source of fatwas: one official sheikh who issued religious and political fatwas for Ottoman sultans and viziers. In our modern era, many contradictory fatwas (regarding religion and politics) are issued by several high- and low-rank people who are not authorized to do so; many of them have their own agendas and are paid by enemies of Egypt; many of them are unreliable extremists............. What is your own view of this? … Thank you …

Answer:

The Ottoman caliphate is a source of inspiration for Sunnite extremists and theocracy-seeking insane bigots like the terrorist MB organization and other Salafist groups/trends. There is nothing good in the Ottoman Era as far as religion is concerned; its religion was never Islam; rather, it was Sunnite Sufism. Corrupt fatwas were issued during the Ottoman Era (regarding politics and religion/faith) to justify tyranny, corruption, and grave injustices. For instance, the Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Great at his old age fell in love violently with his very pretty wife (and former female slave or concubine) Roxelana and he submitted to her totally; her negative influence reached the Ottoman home and foreign policies; she ruled behind the curtains while justifying her grave injustices (and murders) with corrupt fatwas issued to please her and tailored as per her horrid taste. Her plots and intrigues never ended; she caused the war between the Ottomans and the Safavids of Iran. There is nothing called political fatwa in Islam; one does not need a mufti or fatwa-issuer; the pious ones should consult their hearts while using the Quran as Criterion. That is all. Islam (i.e., the Quran) has nothing to do with politics and whims of rulers who seek transient, worldly possessions and gains while manipulating the name of Islam in their plots and intrigues. It is a grave sin and a disgrace to ascribe one's ambitions/whims and views/deeds to the name of Islam.
