Al-Masry Al-Youm
Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, received on Sunday Interim President Adly Mansour in the papal headquarters in Abbassiya's St. Mark Cathedral.
Adly offered his wishes to the Pope for the Eastern Christmas Day.
The president was met by top church officials and bishops as well.
This is the first time an Egyptian President has visited the cathedral himself to offer Christmas wishes.
The Pope expressed his happiness regarding the visit, saying “good feelings and affection between leaders offer a beautiful message to the people.”
