  RDP Responds to Mubarak’s Speech
In a statement issued by the RDP in response to President Mubarak’s speech, party founder Anwar el Sadat said, "There is a great need for protest movements with political vision and specific objectives in order to achieve success and sustainability on the ground. After the president's speech yesterday, which opened many doors that were previously closed in the political process; we see the need for dialogue.
Dialogue should guarantee a specific timetable for achieving the demands of the protesters, including the departure of the current broken system, the dissolution of the parliament, and steps that will be taken to build a decent life for every Egyptian citizen. Dialogue must ensure accountability of the perpetrators of state-inspired chaos and intimidation of citizens in their homes.
Dialogue must remember the blood of the martyrs and the victims, and heal their families. Finally, dialogue must prove to the world that the people of Egypt want to live their lives strongly and intelligently, without fear.”
