Home of Brotherhood's Supreme Guide burglarized, documents stolen
Important documents were stolen yesterday from the home of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie.
Burglars tore down doors, smashed windows and broke some furniture in his house, which is located in Beni Suef, a city south of Cairo.
Badie and his family were in Cairo for the past two days. Waleed Shalabi, media coordinator for the Supreme Guide, said that upon his return to the villa at 10 pm on Sunday, Badie discovered the burglary and immediately reported it to the police and the army.
Asked if the Brotherhood sees any political dimension to the robbery, Shalabi said former security officials may be behind the theft.
Badie, meanwhile, accused two officers from the recently dissolved State Security Investigations Service.
Ikwanweb.com, the Brotherhood’s official website, said the burglars took important documents, CDs and a flash drive, all belonging to Badie.
