After the recent
elections, Mr. Anwar Esmat El-Sadat called on the Attorney General, in an
accusation that the Bureau of the National Party and Eng. Ahmed Ezz, Secretary
of the Party be held responsible for the rampant fraud, corruption, and bullying
laden in NDP's administration of the Parliamentary elections, in order to ensure
the success of NDP candidates. These abuses, far worse than 2005's elections,
resulted in the complete exploitation of political life and the end of real,
meaningful elections.
The Legislative Council
had been appointed by the ruling system, ignoring the will of the people to
choose their representatives. They also controlled the executive authority to
perform their role. They are also striving to marginalize the role of all
national forces by fabricating a state of political vacuum, obstructing Egypt's
transition to true democracy. These events have increased the severity of
violence between different groups of society who feel that they are marginalized
and worthless.
El-Sadat asked the Attorney General to take the necessary
measures with members of the ruling regime to get things back to Egypt's normal
path. El-Sadat called all the national coalitions and forces of opposition to
unite with him against the National Party, particularly those, who like
El-Sadat, endured trials and tribulations only to eventually be dismissed,
unable to do so much as even implement the judicial rulings in their favor,
approved by the courts for their benefit of re-inclusion.
Together, we
can ensure that Egypt will not be governed by a gang of thugs who delight in
abuse, but will live strong, full of men and women who will fight to preserve it
dignity.
