Quranic Terminology: Swayed

Firstly:

 The term (swayed) is mentioned in the Quranic text, exclusively in the passive voice, twice only; i.e., in 2:96 and 3:185. First of all, let us quote and examine the verse in the Quranic Chapter Three: "Every soul will have a taste of death, and you will receive your recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is swayed from the Hell-Fire, and admitted to Paradise, has won. The life of this world is merely enjoyment of delusion." (3:185).

1- In fact, the verse 3:185 contains four facts which are unheeded by the vast majority of human beings.

1/1: All human souls are bound to taste death; this includes prophets and non-prophets, of course.

1/2: God will recompense each of the human beings on the Last Day – either in Hell or in Paradise – as per one's deeds and faith. This means that one's deeds and faith determine one's eternity in the Hereafter, either in Hell or in Paradise; this is the real recompense or outcome which will be forever in the Hereafter and not within this transient world.  

1/3: Accordingly, real winners among human beings are those who are swayed or moved away from Hell-Fire and has nowhere else except Paradise.

1/4: Accordingly, any source of joy within this temporary world is mere delusion because it is transient and fleeting.

2- As for the term (swayed), we assert the following points.

2/1: It is mentioned in the Quran in the passive voice because all verbs within Quranic verses about the Last Day are in the passive voice; this indicates that all human beings will lose their freedom on the Day of Resurrection and within the Last-Day events of Resurrection, Gathering, standing in a row, Judgment, and driven into Hell or Paradise. Of course, Paradise-dwellers retrieve their freedom of action and movement within their Eternal Life of pleasures; in contrast, Hell-dwellers who have been unrepentant sinners and polytheists lose their freedom upon their moment of death until forever inside Hell.

2/2: The winners inside Paradise will be swayed or moved away from Hell; this means that justice would have entailed that they would enter into Hell; yet, the Lord God will pardon them and grant them His mercy because of their sincere repentance, and therefore, they will enter into Paradise. If it had not been for God's mercy, He would have punished/destroyed all humanity (including messengers and prophets) because of their sins: "If God were to hold the humankind for their injustices, He would not leave upon it a single creature, but He postpones them until an appointed time. Then, when their time arrives, they will not delay it by one hour, nor will they advance it." (16:61). This meaning is repeated here: "If God were to punish the people for what they have earned, He would not leave a single living creature on its surface. But He defers them until a stated time. Then, when their time has arrived - God is Observant of His servants." (35:45). The Lord God's mercy entails that He will not punish humanity, in this world, with what they deserve because of the injustices/sins they have committed; their judgment is postponed until the Resurrection Day; God will forgive and pardon – with His mercy – those who sincerely repented before their death; this means they will be swayed or moved away from Hell in order to be made to enter into Paradise after the Day of Judgment; God's mercy is only for those worthy people who deserve it: "..."My torment - I inflict it upon whomever I will, but My mercy encompasses all things. I will specify it for those who act righteously and practice regular charity, and those who believe in Our Verses."" (7:156).       

2/3: This means that in the Hereafter, there is not a third location besides Hell and Paradise; any human being will be either in Hell or in Paradise for eternity; those who are swayed or moved away from Hell will enter into Paradise; they will never hear the voices of Hell and they are away from its torment; the Lord God says the following about those who will deserve His mercy and will be moved away from Hell: "As for those who deserved goodness from Us - these will be kept away from it. They will not hear its hissing, and they will forever abide in what their hearts desire. The Supreme Fear will not seize them, and the angels will receive them: "This is your Day which you were promised."" (21:101-103). The Paradise-dwellers can see the Hell-dwellers without getting harmed by Hell: "Then they will approach one another, questioning. One of them will say, "I used to have a friend. Who used to say, "Are you of those who believe? That after we die and become dust and bones, we will be called to account?" He will say, "Will you have a look?" He will look, and will see him in the pit of Hell. He will say, "By God, you almost ruined me. Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned." "We will not die. Except for our first death, and we will not be tormented." This is the supreme triumph." (37:50-60). Those who will enter into Hell will never get out of it: "They will want to leave the Hell-Fire, but they will not leave it. For them is a lasting torment." (5:37); "Those who followed will say, "If only we can have another chance, we will disown them, as they disowned us." Thus God will show them their deeds, as regrets to them, and they will not come out of the Hell-Fire." (2:167); "And they will have maces of iron. Whenever they try to escape the gloom, they will be driven back to it: "Taste the torment of burning."" (22:21-22); "But as for those who transgressed, their shelter is the Hell-Fire. Every time they try to get out of it, they will be brought back into it, and it will be said to them, "Taste the torment of the Hell-Fire which you used to deny."" (32:20). Those who will enter into Paradise will never get out of it: "But the pious ones will be in gardens with springs. "Enter it in peace and security." And We will remove all ill-feelings from their hearts - brethren on couches facing one another. No fatigue will ever touch them therein, nor will they be asked to leave it." (15:45-48).

2/4: Thus, the real winners are not within this world; rather, they are the ones who will be swayed or moved away from Hell to be made to enter into Paradise.

                                  

Secondly:

1- The misguided, disobedient ones among the People of the Book assumed that they are beloved 'children' of the Lord God; He refutes this blasphemy here: "The Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of God, and His beloved." Say, "Why then does He torment you for your sins?" In fact, you are humans from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills, and He torments whom He wills. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what lies between them, and to Him is the return." (5:18).

2- The misguided, disobedient ones among the People of the Book assumed that they can pretend they are pious though they are not so; bragging of one's piety is forbidden: "Have you not considered those who claim piety for themselves? Rather, God recommends the piety of whom He wills, and they will not be wronged a whit. See how they devise lies against God. That alone is an outright sin." (4:49-50); "...He knows you well, ever since He created you from the earth, and ever since you were embryos in your mothers' wombs. So do not brag your own virtue; He is fully aware of the pious ones." (53:32).

3- The misguided, disobedient ones among the People of the Book assumed that they are the only allies of the Lord God; He refutes this falsehood here: "Say, "O you who follow Judaism; if you claim to be the chosen allies of God, to the exclusion of the rest of the humankind, then wish for death if you are sincere." But they will not wish for it, ever, due to what their hands have advanced. God knows well the unjust ones." (62:6-7).

4- The meaning of the verses 62:6-7 is repeated in these verses: "Say, "If the Final Home with God is yours alone, to the exclusion of all other people, then wish for death if you are sincere." But they will never wish for it, because of what their hands have forwarded. God is aware of the unjust ones." (2:94-95). The term (swayed) is mentioned in 2:96 in the same context: "You will find them, of all humankind, the most eager for life, even more than the polytheists. Every one of them wishes he could live a thousand years; but those granted a long life will not be swayed from the torment. God is Seeing of what they do." (2:96). The meaning of the verse 2:96 is repeated here: "Say, "The death from which you flee will catch up with you; then you will be returned to the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible, and He will inform you of what you used to do."" (62:8). This means that God challenges disobedient sinners to wish to die; only the pious ones wishes to die and meet with their Lord God as they never fear death; those who claim falsely they are the beloved 'allies' of God fear death very much.

5- The monotheists know that the time of their death is predetermined before they were born; once one is born, the countdown of one's death begins automatically, whether one will live for a long or a short duration. Each second of one's life is recorded in one's Book of Deeds: "God created you from dust, then from a small drop; then He made you pairs. No female conceives, or delivers, except with His knowledge. No living thing advances in years, or its life is shortened, except it be in a Book. That is surely easy for God." (35:11).

 

Lastly:

 The Muhammadans have fallen into the trap into which the misguided ones among the People of the Book have fallen before the descent/revelation of the Quran.

1- The Muhammadans have followed the footsteps of the misguided ones among the People of the Book in deifying clergymen; God says the following in the Quran: "Say, "O People of the Book, come to terms common between us and you: that we worship none but God, and that we associate nothing with Him, and that none of us takes others as lords besides God." And if they turn away, say, "Bear witness that we have submitted."" (3:64); "They have taken their rabbis and their priests as deities instead of God, as well as the Messiah son of Mary. Although they were commanded to worship none but The One God. There is no God except He. Glory be to Him; High above what they associate with Him." (9:31).

1/1: The Muhammadans have NOT said directly that Muhammad is a son of God; they convey the same meaning implicitly when they describe their imaginary deity, whom they have fashioned as per their whims and named (Muhammad), as created of God's Light before the creation of Adam and that the whole universe is created for his sake; the Muhammadans deify Muhammad by deeming him as an immortal being and by dedicating some acts of worship to him (e.g., Sunna prayers and the pilgrimage to the Yathreb-mosque mausoleum). 

1/2: The Muhammadans deify their clergymen, sheikhs, imams, and allies/saints in the same way like the misguided ones among the People of the Book have done with their priests and rabbis.

2- In addition, we assert the following points.

2/1: The Muhammadans have followed the footsteps of the misguided ones among the People of the Book in assuming they are the children of the Lord God; they believe in the silly Al-Bokhary hadiths about God's creating Adam in His image; it is as though human beings are created in the image of God and that their souls/spirits are from God's Light; such myths are refuted by the Quranic verses; besides, the term (Spirit) in the Quran refers ONLY to the arch-angel Gabriel.

2/2: The Muhammadans have followed the footsteps of the misguided ones among the People of the Book in the claim that they are the only beloved allies of God; they worship a privately owned deity fashioned a per their desires and whims which has nothing to do with Allah; they monopolize such a deity and make him against others among the non-Muhammadans. This is why they repeat, unawares, the claims and lies of the misguided ones among the People of the Book, especially about confiscating Paradise and depriving others from entering it; God says the following in the Quran: "And they say, "None will enter Heaven unless he is a Jew or a Christian." These are their wishes. Say, "Produce your proof, if you are truthful." In fact, whoever submits himself to God, and is a doer of good, will have his reward with his Lord-they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve." (2:111-112); likewise, the Muhammadans assume that Paradise is confined to them within the intercession myths of their imaginary deity named (Muhammad) mentioned in the hadiths of Al-Bokhary.  

3- We assert these points about the Sufi Muhammadans.

3/1: They assumed that they are the chosen allies/saints of God in the same way as done by the misguided ones among the People of the Book mentioned in 62:6; the Sufis have propagated the falsehood that the following verses refer to them (in fact, these verses refer to all pious monotheists who are allies of God in Paradise in the Hereafter): "Unquestionably, God's allies have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. Those who believe and are pious. For them is good news in this life, and in the Hereafter. There is no alteration to the words of God. That is the supreme triumph." (10:62-64).  

3/2: The Lord God makes the qualities of faith and piety available for all humanity; those who die as believing, pious ones are brought glad tidings by the angels of death about Paradise as per the verses 10:62-64; the same meaning is repeated in these verses: "Surely, those who say: "Our Lord is God," and are upright, the angels will descend upon them: "Do not fear, and do not grieve, but rejoice in the news of the Garden which you were promised. We are your allies in this life and in the Hereafter, wherein you will have whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you call for." (41:30-31); "O children of Adam! When messengers from among you come to you, relating to you My Verses - whoever practices piety and reforms - upon them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (7:35); "Those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Christians, and the Sabians - any who believe in God and the Last Day, and act righteously - will have their reward with their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve." (2:62); "Those who believe, and the Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians - whoever believes in God and the Last Day, and does what is right - they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve." (5:69); "Those who say, "Our Lord is God," then lead a righteous life - they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve. These are the inhabitants of Paradise, where they will dwell forever - a reward for what they used to do." (46:13-14).  

4- Of course, the Muhammadans are more misguided than the misguided ones among the People of the Book; this is because the Holy Quran is with them but they abandon and discard it and reject and disbelieve in its verses. When we have preached and warned them using the Quranic verses within a peaceful call for reform – as we fear for them regarding their fate in the Hereafter – they have persecuted us and declared us as an infidel and a disbeliever.

5- Our appointment with them is on the day of Judgment when the Lord God settle our disputes and differences in religion.
