A New Type of Jackasses!

Published in February 16, 2020

Question: … ............... All of you are cursed blasphemers who deserve Hell in the Hereafter and Allah's curse in this world and in the next world! How come that a sane, normal person would believe in Al-Bokhary hadiths that make Allah look like a man with human arms, legs, fingers, and face?! These hadiths are found in the following pages of Al-Bokhary two-volume book:..................... You are such an infidel! …

Answer:

What brought this message of this jackass to our email inbox?! This jackass does not realize that we are a Quranist thinker who rejects, denies, and disbelieves in all hadiths of all types! This jackass should have sent his angry letter to Sunnite clergymen and not to our person. This is a new type of jackasses we have not encountered before. We feel sorry for jackasses if they resemble this male sender of the above message.

Shiites, Again!

Published in February 16, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … Some Shiites claim that a 'royal' and 'holy' bloodline of descendants of Fatima and Ali exists now and it should rule over the Muslim world or the 'Umma' of Islam. What do you think of that myth? … Thank you …

Answer:

This is very silly; Muhammad was no king at all; Muhammad was never a deified, holy person, of course; for more details about debunking the myth of the existence of living descendants of Ali and Fatima in the modern era, we refer you to this article of ours, in English, found on this link:

May Muhammad Guard You!

Published in February 17, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … In colloquial Arabic, in Egypt, the phrase (May the name of Prophet Muhammad guard and protect you!) is pronounced a lot; is it OK as far as Quranism is concerned or not? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

This is a blasphemous phrase which aims to assert the deification of Muhammad by the Muhammadans. We refer you to our book, in English, titled (Those Who Believe In Muhammad Are Disbelievers), found on this link:

Eating Bats?

Published in February 18, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it prohibited or not in Islam to consume bats as food? You know that some people now assume that eating bats is the primary cause for the spread of the coronavirus............. … Thank you …

Answer:

One cannot add to the list of prohibited food items mentioned in the Quran; many articles and fatwas about this fact have been published by our person. Hence, it is OK in Islam to eat bats regardless of the fact that bats are linked (or not) with the coronavirus.

This Is OK

Published in February 18, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  I am an American citizens of Arab origin; I recently got married to an Arab woman in her country; yet, the American embassy in her country refuses to give her the entry visa as my wife; the people there assume she is a second wife though my first American wife died. Many American friends of Arab origin advised me about the only way to solve this problem so that my wife could enter into the USA: I have to divorce my wife (in a court inside her country) and marry her within a new marriage contract; many American Arabs did so in order to bring their wives into the USA. Is this OK or not, as far as Islam is concerned, to do so? Any advice?    … Thank you …

Answer:

It is OK to do so within Islam since you have to and since there is no other means to bring your wife where you live; you have to abide by laws where you live in the West.

A Sinful Mercenary Aggressor!

Published in February 19, 2020

Question: …  Dear Sir, … My maternal uncle fought in Yemen while siding with the KSA; he gained a very large sum of money; I told him this war is unjust and his participating in it by siding with the aggressors is a grave sin and I told him that such money is ill-gotten; yet, he refused to listen to me and quoted to me some Quranic verses as if to 'justify' his stance and actions! What do you think?! How can I convince him?! Any ideas? …  Thank you …

Answer:

Your uncle is a criminal because he is a sinful mercenary aggressor who allied himself to Saudi aggressors and joined their ranks to murder the innocent Yemenis who defend their own country. This means he is a murderer who allied himself to the unjust Saudi kingdom which has caused massacres and famine in Yemen and caused much misery to the poor in general and to the Yemeni children in particular. Even if he gained lots of money, his sin is too grave and too enormous; his money will never avail him anything; it is strange that instead of repenting of his crimes and reforming his soul, your uncle dares to misuse the Quranic verses to 'justify' his crimes and the Saudi crimes of aggression, bloodshed, and other grave injustices. It would have been better if your uncle had fought for, or in the side of, the Yemenis to defend them against the Saudi invasion. Yemenis never attacked the Saudi kingdom; Yemenis are victims of unwarranted Saudi military interference. We never care for Houthis and other warring factions inside Yemen; our focus is to side with the victims who are the entire Yemeni nation.

The (Messenger) Is the Quran Itself

Published in February 19, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I can't understand the view of yours expressed in many writings (e.g., recently in the book titled (Those Who Believe In Muhammad Are Disbelievers), found, in English, on this link:   http://ahl-alquran.com/arabic/book_main.php?main_id=170) that the term (Messenger) refers to the Quran and not to Muhammad............ Would you explain this further to me? …  Thank you …

Answer:

The Quranic term messenger (with a small [m]) refers to Muhammad when he read the Quran to warn and bring glad tidings; he preaching nothing but the Quran; the Quranic term (Messenger) (with a capital [M]) refers to the Quranic Message itself; you can easily differentiate between both meanings as per the context of each Quranic verse. Please ponder deeply on these Quranic verses which are about the Holy Quran itself: "A revelation from the Dominant Lord, the Most Merciful. A Book whose Verses are detailed, a Quran in Arabic for people who know. Bringing good news, and giving warnings. But most of them turn away, so they do not listen." (41:2-4).

About the Quranic Verse 53:61

Published in February 19, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by the Quranic/Arabic term (samidoon) in the Quranic verse 53:61? …  Thank you …

Answer:

This plural adjective (samidoon) means frivolous and heedless; it describes the arrogant ones who rejected the Quranic Discourse and ridiculed it: "Do you marvel at this Discourse? And laugh, and do not weep? Lost in your frivolity?" (53:59-61).

About Adawi!

Published in February 20, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  … Many peasants and old men in my village, in Egypt, invoke someone named as Adawi; I cannot think why they do this! What is meant by this quasi-religious word (Adawi)? Is it a name of a Sufi saint? What is his story, anyway?...........  … Thank you …

Answer:

During the Middle-Ages in Egypt, when Sunnite Sufism was the dominant religion, the Sufi saint named as Adawi was invoked as he specialized in bringing back missed persons and things; invoking him (even without knowing anything about the story of this so-called saint) is a deep-rooted, centuries-old tradition in Egypt because of the influence of the Sufi religion.

(The Quran Is Enough) Is our School of Thought

Published in February 20, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  …  I came across your website weeks ago; what is your Quranist view of miracles/signs granted to Prophet Muhammad by Allah? I mean what is your view as far as your school of thought is concerned? … Thank you …

Answer:

Please read more within our entire archive before posing repeated questions; we have written many times in previous articles and fatwas that Muhammad received no miracles ago; the only miracle he received is the Quran itself. As per the Quranic story of Muhammad, the polytheists in Arabia demanded tangible miracles many times from him and he never performed any at all; this is exemplified here: "And they said, “We will not believe in you unless you make a spring burst from the ground for us. Or you have a garden of palms and vines; then cause rivers to gush pouring through them. Or make the sky fall on us in pieces, as you claim, or bring God and the angels before us. Or you possess a house of gold. Or you ascend into the sky. Even then, we will not believe in your ascension, unless you bring down for us a book that we can read.” Say, “Glory be to my Lord. Am I anything but a human messenger?”" (17:90-93).

Fates and Human Actions

Published in February 20, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … The Lord God says the following in the Holy Quran: "...and seek what God has ordained for you..." (2:187); does this mean we have to seek our provisions (and other preordained fates) and perform certain actions so that fates are fulfilled? …  Thank you …

Answer:

The verse 2:187 is about Ramadan fasting and the commands/decrees of the Lord God: "Permitted for you is intercourse with your wives on the night of the fast. They are a garment for you, and you are a garment for them. God knows that you used to betray yourselves, but He turned to you and pardoned you. So approach them now, and seek what God has ordained for you, and eat and drink until the white streak of dawn can be distinguished from the black streak. Then complete the fast until nightfall..." (2:187). Of course, part of inevitable, preordained fates is that children are (or are not) conceived as a result of marital sex. Of course, those who seek offspring, money,...etc. should seek it; preordained fates take place while human beings interact with one another anyway.

About the Quranic Verse 6:44

Published in February 21, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  …  What is meant by the underlined word by  the end of the Quranic verse 6:44 in the following context: "We sent messengers to communities before you, and We afflicted them with suffering and hardship, that they may humble themselves. If only, when Our might came upon them, they humbled themselves. But their hearts hardened, and Satan made their deeds appear good to them. Then, when they disregarded what they were reminded of, We opened for them the gates of all things. Until, when they delighted in what they were given, We seized them suddenly; and at once, they were mublisoon." (6:42-44)? … Thank you …

Answer:

This context is about torment inflicted by the Lord God on sinners in this world; (mublisoon) means they felt utter shock, consternation, and stupefaction once the torment was inflicted on them. The same meaning is found here: "We have already gripped them with torment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor did they humble themselves. Until, when We have opened before them a gate of intense torment, at once they will be utterly shocked." (23:76-77). The same feelings will be experienced by people who will witness the advent of the Hour when it takes place: "On the Day when the Hour takes place, the criminals will be stupefied. They will have no intercessors from among their partners, and they will disown their partners." (30:12-13); "O people, fear your Lord within piety. The quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the Day when you will see it: every nursing mother will discard her infant, and every pregnant woman will abort her load, and you will see the people drunk, even though they are not drunk - but the torment of God is severe." (22:1-2). The same feelings, but amplified beyond our imagination, will be experienced by Hell dwellers: "As for the criminals, they will be in the torment of Hell forever. It will never be eased for them. In it, they will be devastated." (43:74-75). This is about the stupefaction and consternation when long time passes without rainfall: "God is He who sends the winds. They stir up clouds. Then He spreads them in the sky as He wills. And He breaks them apart. Then you see rain drops issuing from their midst. Then, when He makes it fall upon whom He wills of His servants, behold, they rejoice. Although they were before this - before it was sent down upon them - in stupefaction." (30:48-49).

About the Disciples of Jesus in the Quran

Published in February 22, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  Did some disciples of Jesus betrayed him? or were all of them good followers of Jesus? I'd like a Quranist answer from you............ … Thank you …

Answer:

The followers of Jesus, the disciples, according to the Quranic verses, asked Jesus for a miracle in a way that showed their lack of faith in the Lord God: "And when the disciples said, 'O Jesus son of Mary, is Your Lord able to bring down for us a feast from heaven?' He said, 'Fear God, if you are believers.'"(5:112). Thus, they said 'Your Lord' not 'Our Lord'. That is why Jesus told them: ''Fear God, if you are believers.''. If they were true believers, they would not have said what they have said in that offensive manner of talking that lacked politeness. Hence, according to the Quran, all of the disciples deceived and betrayed Jesus. When Jesus faced rejection from the Israelites and felt them to be unbelievers, he asked who would be the true faithful who believe truly in God. The disciples declared their faith to him in the Hebrew or Aramaic tongue. But they were deceitful: "When Jesus sensed disbelief on their part, he said, "Who are my allies towards God?" The disciples said, "We are God's allies; we have believed in God, and bear witness that we submit. Our Lord, we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed the Messenger, so count us among the witnesses. They schemed, and God schemed; but God is the Best of schemers." (3:52-54). In the Christian traditions which deify Jesus, those disciples have been turned into holy gods under the name of 'apostles', while acknowledging that one of the apostles betrayed Jesus and another apostle denied him thrice. In a nutshell, we observe here that denying the message of Jesus as a prophet of God began early during his lifetime. Some of his hypocritical followers betrayed and schemed against him and against the message he conveyed. Yet, those hypocrites have been deified after their death along with the deification of Jesus himself after this death!
